2 T hou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

3 G ird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

¡Cíñete la espada, valiente guerrero, y cúbrete de honra y majestad!

4 A nd in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

¡Que tengas prosperidad y gloria! ¡Cabalga defendiendo la verdad, la humildad y la justicia, guiado por tu diestra portentosa!

5 T hine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

¡Que penetren, oh rey, tus agudas flechas en el corazón de tus enemigos, y que los pueblos se rindan ante ti!

6 T hy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Oh Dios, tu trono es eterno y permanente; tu cetro real es un cetro de justicia.

7 T hou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Porque amas la justicia y odias la maldad, Dios, tu Dios, te ha ungido como rey; ha derramado en ti el perfume de alegría; ¡te eligió a ti, y no a tus compañeros!

8 A ll thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Mirra, áloe y canela perfuman tus vestidos, y en los palacios de marfil te brindan alegría.

9 K ings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Entre tus favoritas hay muchas princesas; La reina, a tu derecha, luce joyas de oro de Ofir.

10 H earken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

«Hija mía, inclina tu oído y préstame atención: Olvídate de tu pueblo y de la casa paterna,

11 S o shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

que el rey desea poseer tu hermosura; él es tu señor, y le debes obediencia.

12 A nd the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

Gente de Tiro vendrá a ti con presentes; los ricos del pueblo implorarán tu favor.»

13 T he king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

¡Esplendorosa se ve la princesa en su alcoba! ¡Sus vestidos son de brocado de oro!

14 S he shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

Así ataviada se presenta ante el rey, seguida por su séquito de doncellas, traídas de lejos para hacerle compañía;

15 W ith gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

y entre jubilosas voces de alegría serán conducidas al palacio real.

16 I nstead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

Tus hijos sucederán a tus padres, y los harás príncipes de toda la tierra.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Yo perpetuaré tu nombre para siempre, y perpetuamente los pueblos te alabarán.
