1 M y heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

2 T hou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Tu és o mais formoso dos filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou nos teus lábios; por isso Deus te abençoou para sempre.

3 G ird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

Cinge a tua espada ã coxa, ó valente, na tua glória e majestade.

4 A nd in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

E em tua majestade cavalga vitoriosamente pela causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça, e a tua destra te ensina coisas terríveis.

5 T hine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei; os povos caem debaixo de ti.

6 T hy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste pelos séculos dos séculos; cetro de eqüidade é o cetro do teu reino.

7 T hou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniqüidade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.

8 A ll thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra a aloés e a cássia; dos palácios de marfim os instrumentos de cordas e te alegram.

9 K ings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Filhas de reis estão entre as tuas ilustres donzelas; ã tua mão direita está a rainha, ornada de ouro de Ofir.

10 H earken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa de teu pai.

11 S o shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

Então o rei se afeiçoará ã tua formosura. Ele é teu senhor, presta-lhe, pois, homenagem.

12 A nd the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

A filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.

13 T he king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

A filha do rei está esplendente lá dentro do palácio; as suas vestes são entretecidas de ouro.

14 S he shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

Em vestidos de cores brilhantes será conduzida ao rei; as virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem, serão trazidas ã tua presença.

15 W ith gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

Com alegria e regozijo serão trazidas; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.

16 I nstead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

Em lugar de teus pais estarão teus filhos; tu os farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
