1 P raise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord.

¡Alabado sea el nombre del Señor! ¡Que lo alaben todos sus siervos,

2 Y e that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

los que sirven en el templo del Señor, los que están en los atrios de nuestro Dios!

3 P raise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

¡Alaben al Señor, porque él es bueno! ¡Canten salmos a su nombre, por su bondad!

4 F or the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

El Señor eligió a Jacob como su propiedad; hizo que Israel fuera su propio pueblo.

5 F or I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Yo sé bien que el Señor nuestro Dios es grande, ¡que es más grande que todos los dioses!

6 W hatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

El Señor hace todo lo que él quiere, en los cielos y en la tierra, en los mares y en los abismos profundos.

7 H e causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Desde lo más remoto de la tierra hace que las nubes se levanten, envía los relámpagos que acompañan la lluvia, y abre las puertas para que salgan los vientos.

8 W ho smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

A los primogénitos egipcios les quitó la vida; lo hizo con los hombres y con las bestias.

9 W ho sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Allí en Egipto, al faraón y a sus siervos les advirtió con prodigios y señales.

10 W ho smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

El Señor destruyó a muchas naciones, y les quitó la vida a reyes poderosos:

11 S ihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

a Sijón, rey de los amorreos; a Og, rey de Basán; y a los todos los reyes cananeos.

12 A nd gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

Todo el territorio que esos reyes habitaban se lo dio en propiedad a su pueblo Israel.

13 T hy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations.

Señor, tu nombre es eterno; por todas las generaciones serás recordado,

14 F or the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

porque tú, Señor, defiendes a tu pueblo y te compadeces de tus siervos.

15 T he idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

Los dioses de los paganos son de oro y plata, y están hechos por la mano del hombre.

16 T hey have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

Tienen boca, pero no hablan; tienen ojos, pero no ven;

17 T hey have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

orejas tienen, pero no oyen, y en sus labios no hay aliento de vida.

18 T hey that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

Iguales a ellos son quienes los fabrican, y todos los que ponen su confianza en ellos.

19 B less the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron:

Ustedes los israelitas, ¡bendigan al Señor! Ustedes los sacerdotes, ¡bendigan al Señor!

20 B less the Lord, O house of Levi: ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.

Ustedes los levitas, ¡bendigan al Señor! Ustedes temerosos del Señor, ¡bendigan al Señor!

21 B lessed be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

¡Bendito sea desde Sión el Señor, que habita en Jerusalén! ¡Aleluya!
