1 E ntonces continuó Eliú, y dijo:

And Elihu proceeded and said,

2 “ Espérame un poco, y te mostraré Que todavía hay más que decir en favor de Dios.

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.

3 T raeré mi conocimiento desde lejos, Y atribuiré justicia a mi Hacedor.

I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.

4 P orque en verdad no son falsas mis palabras; Uno perfecto en conocimiento está contigo.

For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.

5 D ios es poderoso pero no desprecia a nadie, Es poderoso en la fuerza del entendimiento.

Lo, God is mighty, but despiseth not; mighty in strength of understanding:

6 N o mantiene vivo al impío, Pero da justicia al afligido.

He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.

7 N o aparta Sus ojos de los justos, Y con los reyes sobre el trono Los ha sentado para siempre, y son ensalzados.

He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.

8 Y si están aprisionados con cadenas, Si son atrapados en las cuerdas de aflicción,

And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,

9 E ntonces les muestra su obra Y sus transgresiones, porque ellos se han engrandecido.

Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.

10 E l abre sus oídos para la instrucción, Y ordena que se vuelvan del mal.

And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 S i escuchan y Le sirven, Acabarán sus días en prosperidad Y sus años en delicias.

If they hearken and serve, they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 P ero si no escuchan, perecerán a espada, Y morirán sin conocimiento.

But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.

13 P ero los impíos de corazón acumulan la ira; No claman pidiendo ayuda cuando El los ata.

But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:

14 M ueren en su juventud, Y su vida perece entre los sodomitas de cultos paganos.

Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15 E l libra al afligido en medio de su aflicción, Y abre su oído en tiempos de opresión.

But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in oppression.

16 E ntonces, en verdad, El te atrajo de la boca de la angustia, A un lugar espacioso, sin limitaciones, en lugar de aquélla; Y lo que se puso sobre tu mesa estaba lleno de grasa.

Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table full of fatness.

17 P ero tú estabas lleno de juicio sobre el malvado; El juicio y la justicia se apoderan de ti.

But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold.

18 T en cuidado, no sea que el furor te seduzca a burlarte; No dejes que la grandeza del rescate te extravíe.

Because there is wrath, lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.

19 ¿ Te protegerán tus riquezas de la angustia, O todas las fuerzas de tu poder?

Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!

20 N o anheles la noche, Cuando los pueblos desaparecen de su lugar.

Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.

21 T en cuidado, no te inclines al mal; Pues has preferido éste a la aflicción.

Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

22 D ios es exaltado en Su poder, ¿Quién es maestro como El ?

Lo, God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?

23 ¿ Quién Le ha señalado Su camino, Y quién Le ha dicho: ‘Has hecho mal ’?

Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?

24 R ecuerda que debes ensalzar Su obra, La cual han cantado los hombres.

Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.

25 T odos los hombres la han visto; El hombre la contempla desde lejos.

All men look at it; man beholdeth afar off.

26 D ios es exaltado, y no Lo conocemos; El número de Sus años es inescrutable.

Lo, God is great, and we comprehend not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

27 P orque El atrae las gotas de agua, Y ellas, del vapor, destilan lluvia,

For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,

28 Q ue derraman las nubes, Y en abundancia gotean sobre el hombre.

Which the skies pour down drop upon man abundantly.

29 ¿ Puede alguien comprender la extensión de las nubes, O el tronar de Su pabellón ?

But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, the crashing of his pavilion?

30 E l extiende Su relámpago en derredor suyo, Y cubre los abismos del mar.

Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

31 P ues por estos medios El juzga a los pueblos, Y da alimento en abundancia.

For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.

32 E l cubre Sus manos con el relámpago, Y le ordena dar en el blanco.

hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.

33 S u trueno anuncia Su presencia; También el ganado, respecto a lo que se levanta.

His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming.
