1 E l pecado de Judá está escrito con cincel de hierro, Con punta de diamante está grabado sobre la tabla de su corazón Y en los cuernos de sus altares.

The sin of Judah is written with a style of iron, with the point of a diamond, engraven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

2 C omo ellos se acuerdan de sus hijos, Así se acuerdan de sus altares y de sus Aseras (deidades femeninas) Junto a los árboles frondosos, en las altas colinas.

whilst their children remember their altars and their Asherahs, by the green trees, upon the high hills.

3 O h montaña Mía en el campo, Entregaré al saqueo tus riquezas y todos tus tesoros, A causa del pecado de tus lugares altos en todo tu territorio.

My mountain in the field, thy substance, all thy treasures will I give for a spoil,—thy high places, because of sin throughout thy borders.

4 Y por tu causa harás que se pierda la heredad Que Yo te di; Te haré servir a tus enemigos En un país que no conoces; Porque has prendido un fuego en Mi ira Que arderá para siempre.

And of thyself thou shalt let go thine inheritance which I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in a land that thou knowest not; for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger,—it shall burn for ever.

5 A sí dice el Señor: “Maldito el hombre que en el hombre confía, Y hace de la carne su fortaleza (brazo), Y del Señor se aparta su corazón.

Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that confideth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah.

6 S erá como arbusto en lugar desolado Y no verá cuando venga el bien; Habitará en pedregales en el desierto, Una tierra salada y sin habitantes.

And he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but he shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

7 B endito es el hombre que confía en el Señor, Cuya confianza es el Señor.

Blessed is the man that confideth in Jehovah, and whose confidence Jehovah is.

8 S erá como árbol plantado junto al agua, Que extiende sus raíces junto a la corriente; No temerá cuando venga el calor, Y sus hojas estarán verdes; En año de sequía no se angustiará Ni cesará de dar fruto.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out its roots by the stream, and he shall not see when heat cometh, but his leaf shall be green; and in the year of drought he shall not be careful, neither shall he cease to yield fruit.

9 M ás engañoso que todo, es el corazón, Y sin remedio; ¿Quién lo comprenderá?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable; who can know it?

10 Y o, el Señor, escudriño el corazón, Pruebo los pensamientos, Para dar a cada uno según sus caminos, Según el fruto de sus obras.

I Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give each one according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

11 C omo perdiz que incuba lo que no ha puesto, Es el que adquiere una fortuna, pero no con justicia, En la mitad de sus días lo abandonará, Y al final será un insensato.”

the partridge sitteth on it hath not laid, is he that getteth riches and not by right: in the midst of his days shall he leave them, and at his end shall be a fool.

12 T rono de gloria, enaltecido desde el principio Es el lugar de nuestro santuario.

A throne of glory, on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.

13 O h Señor, esperanza de Israel, Todos los que Te abandonan serán avergonzados. Los que se apartan de ti serán escritos en el polvo, Porque abandonaron al Señor, fuente de aguas vivas.

Thou hope of Israel, Jehovah! all that forsake thee shall be ashamed. They that depart from me shall be written in the earth; because they have forsaken Jehovah, the fountain of living waters.

14 S áname, oh Señor, y seré sanado; Sálvame y seré salvado, Porque Tú eres mi alabanza.

Heal me, Jehovah, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

15 M ira, ellos me dicen: “¿Dónde está la palabra del Señor ? Que venga ahora.”

Behold, these say unto me, Where is the word of Jehovah? let it then come!

16 P ero yo no me he apresurado a dejar de ser tu pastor, Ni el día de angustia he anhelado; Tú sabes que lo que ha salido de mis labios En Tu presencia está.

But as for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd in following thee, neither have I desired the fatal day, thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was before thy face.

17 N o seas para mí terror; Tú eres mi refugio en el día de calamidad.

Be not a terror unto me: thou art my refuge in the day of evil.

18 S ean avergonzados los que me persiguen, pero no sea yo avergonzado; Sean atemorizados ellos, pero que no me atemorice yo. Trae sobre ellos el día de calamidad, Y destrúyelos con doble destrucción.

Let them be ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be ashamed; let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed; bring upon them the day of evil, and break them with a double breaking.

19 A sí me dijo el Señor: “Ve y ponte a la puerta de los hijos del pueblo, por la cual entran y salen los reyes de Judá, y asimismo en todas las Puertas de Jerusalén,

Thus hath Jehovah said unto me: Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, by which the kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

20 y diles: ‘Escuchen la palabra del Señor, reyes de Judá, todo Judá y todos los habitantes de Jerusalén que entran por estas puertas:

and say unto them, Hear the word of Jehovah, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates;

21 ‘ Así dice el Señor: “Cuídense, por su vida, de no llevar carga en día de reposo, y de meterla por las Puertas de Jerusalén.

thus saith Jehovah: Take heed to your souls, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, and bring nothing in through the gates of Jerusalem;

22 T ampoco saquen carga de sus casas en día de reposo, ni hagan trabajo alguno, sino santifiquen el día de reposo, como mandé a sus padres.

and carry forth no burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do any work; but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers,

23 S in embargo, ellos no escucharon ni inclinaron sus oídos, sino que fueron tercos para no oír ni recibir corrección.

but they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, but hardened their neck, that they might not hear nor receive instruction.

24 P ero sucederá que si me escuchan con atención,” declara el Señor, “no metiendo carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en día de reposo, y santifican el día de reposo, sin hacer en él trabajo alguno,

And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, and to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

25 e ntonces entrarán por las puertas de esta ciudad reyes y príncipes que se sienten sobre el trono de David; vendrán montados en carros y caballos, ellos y sus príncipes, los hombres de Judá y los habitantes de Jerusalén; y esta ciudad será habitada para siempre.

then shall there enter in, through the gates of this city, kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall be inhabited for ever.

26 V endrán de las ciudades de Judá y de los alrededores de Jerusalén, de la tierra de Benjamín, de la tierra baja, de la región montañosa y del Neguev (región del sur), trayendo holocaustos, sacrificios, ofrendas de grano e incienso, y trayendo sacrificios de acción de gracias a la casa del Señor.

And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the hill-country, and from the south, bringing burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and oblations, and incense, and bringing thanksgiving unto the house of Jehovah.

27 P ero si no Me escuchan en cuanto a santificar el día de reposo, y traen carga y entran por las Puertas de Jerusalén en día de reposo, entonces prenderé fuego a sus puertas, que consumirá los palacios (las fortalezas) de Jerusalén, y no se apagará.”’”

But if ye will not hearken unto me, to hallow the sabbath day and not to bear a burden and enter in through the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
