1 E zequías comenzó a reinar cuando tenía veinticinco años, y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Abías, hija de Zacarías.

Hezekiah began to reign being twenty-five years old; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Abijah, daughter of Zechariah.

2 E zequías hizo lo recto ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo lo que su padre David había hecho.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that David his father had done.

3 E n el primer año de su reinado, en el mes primero, abrió las puertas de la casa del Señor y las reparó.

He, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Jehovah, and repaired them.

4 H izo venir a los sacerdotes y a los Levitas y los reunió en la plaza oriental.

And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them into the open place eastward;

5 E ntonces les dijo: “Oiganme, Levitas. Santifíquense ahora, y santifiquen la casa del Señor, Dios de sus padres, y saquen lo inmundo del lugar santo.

and he said to them, Hear me, ye Levites: hallow yourselves now, and hallow the house of Jehovah the God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the sanctuary.

6 P orque nuestros padres han sido infieles y han hecho lo malo ante los ojos del Señor nuestro Dios, Lo han abandonado, han apartado sus rostros de la morada del Señor y Le han vuelto las espaldas.

For our fathers have transgressed, and done evil in the sight of Jehovah our God, and have forsaken him and turned away their faces from the habitation of Jehovah, and have turned their backs.

7 T ambién han cerrado las puertas del pórtico y han apagado las lámparas, y no han quemado incienso ni ofrecido holocaustos en el lugar santo al Dios de Israel.

Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered up burnt-offerings in the sanctuary to the God of Israel.

8 P or tanto, la ira del Señor vino contra Judá y Jerusalén, y El los hizo objeto de espanto, de horror y de burla, como ustedes lo ven con sus propios ojos.

Therefore the wrath of Jehovah has been upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to vexation, to desolation, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

9 P or eso nuestros padres han caído a espada, y nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas y nuestras mujeres están en cautividad a causa de esto.

And behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

10 A hora he decidido en mi corazón hacer un pacto con el Señor, Dios de Israel, para que el ardor de Su ira se aparte de nosotros.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

11 H ijos míos, no sean ahora negligentes, porque el Señor los ha escogido a fin de que estén delante de El, para servirle y para ser Sus ministros y quemar incienso.”

My sons, be not now negligent; for Jehovah has chosen you to stand before him, to do service unto him, and to be his ministers and incense-burners.

12 E ntonces se levantaron los Levitas: Mahat, hijo de Amasai, y Joel, hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de los Coatitas; y de los hijos de Merari, Cis, hijo de Abdi, y Azarías, hijo de Jehalelel; y de los Gersonitas, Joa, hijo de Zima, y Edén, hijo de Joa;

Then the Levites rose up, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalleleel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;

13 d e los hijos de Elizafán, Simri y Jeiel; y de los hijos de Asaf, Zacarías y Matanías;

and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;

14 d e los hijos de Hemán, Jehiel y Simei; y de los hijos de Jedutún, Semaías y Uziel.

and of the sons of Heman, Jehiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 E stos Levitas reunieron a sus hermanos, se santificaron y entraron para limpiar la casa del Señor, conforme al mandamiento del rey según las palabras del Señor.

And they gathered their brethren, and hallowed themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king by the words of Jehovah, to cleanse the house of Jehovah.

16 L os sacerdotes entraron al interior de la casa del Señor para limpiar la, y sacaron al atrio de la casa del Señor todas las cosas inmundas que hallaron en el templo del Señor. Entonces los Levitas las recogieron para llevar las fuera al torrente Cedrón.

And the priests went into the inner part of the house of Jehovah to cleanse it, and carried forth all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of Jehovah, into the court of the house of Jehovah. And the Levites took it to carry it forth into the brook Kidron.

17 C omenzaron la santificación el primer día del mes primero, y el octavo día del mes entraron hasta el pórtico del Señor; entonces santificaron la casa del Señor en ocho días, y terminaron el día dieciséis del mes primero.

And they began on the first of the first month to hallow, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of Jehovah; and they hallowed the house of Jehovah eight days; and on the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

18 D espués fueron al rey Ezequías, y le dijeron: “Hemos limpiado toda la casa del Señor, el altar del holocausto con todos sus utensilios, y la mesa del pan de la proposición con todos sus utensilios.

And they went in to king Hezekiah, and said, We have cleansed all the house of Jehovah, and the altar of burnt-offering with all its vessels, and the table of the to be set in rows, and all its vessels;

19 A demás, todos los utensilios que el rey Acaz en su infidelidad había desechado durante su reino los hemos preparado y santificado, y ahora están delante del altar del Señor.”

and all the vessels that king Ahaz in his reign cast away in his transgression have we prepared and hallowed, and behold, they are before the altar of Jehovah.

20 E ntonces el rey Ezequías se levantó temprano, reunió a los príncipes de la ciudad y subió a la casa del Señor.

And Hezekiah the king arose early, and gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the house of Jehovah.

21 Y trajeron siete novillos, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado del reino, por el santuario y por Judá. El rey ordenó a los sacerdotes, los hijos de Aarón, que los ofrecieran sobre el altar del Señor.

And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he-goats for a sin-offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer upon the altar of Jehovah.

22 M ataron los novillos, y los sacerdotes recogieron la sangre y la esparcieron sobre el altar. También mataron los carneros y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar; asimismo mataron los corderos y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar.

And they slaughtered the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar; and they slaughtered the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar; and they slaughtered the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

23 D espués trajeron los machos cabríos de la ofrenda por el pecado del rey y de la asamblea, y pusieron sus manos sobre ellos.

And they brought near the he-goats of the sin-offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them.

24 L os sacerdotes los mataron y purificaron el altar con su sangre como expiación por todo Israel, porque el rey había ordenado el holocausto y la ofrenda por el pecado por todo Israel.

And the priests slaughtered them, and they made purification for sin with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel; because for all Israel, said the king, is the burnt-offering and the sin-offering.

25 L uego Ezequías situó a los Levitas en la casa del Señor con címbalos, con arpas y con liras, conforme al mandamiento de David y de Gad, el vidente del rey, y del profeta Natán. Porque el mandamiento procedía del Señor por medio de Sus profetas.

And he set the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with lutes, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was of Jehovah through his prophets.

26 L os Levitas se colocaron con los instrumentos musicales de David, y los sacerdotes con las trompetas.

And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

27 E ntonces Ezequías mandó ofrecer el holocausto sobre el altar. Cuando el holocausto comenzó, también comenzó el canto al Señor con las trompetas, acompañado por los instrumentos de David, rey de Israel.

And Hezekiah commanded to offer up the burnt-offering on the altar. And at the moment the burnt-offering began, the song of Jehovah began, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.

28 M ientras toda la asamblea adoraba, también los cantores cantaban y las trompetas sonaban; todo esto continuó hasta que se consumió el holocausto.

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded, all until the burnt-offering was finished.

29 D espués de consumido el holocausto, el rey y todos los que estaban con él se inclinaron y adoraron.

And when they had ended offering the burnt-offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves and worshipped.

30 E l rey Ezequías y los oficiales ordenaron a los Levitas que cantaran alabanzas al Señor con las palabras de David y del vidente Asaf. Cantaron alabanzas con alegría, y se inclinaron y adoraron.

And king Hezekiah and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise to Jehovah with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and bowed their heads and worshipped.

31 E ntonces Ezequías dijo: “Ahora que ustedes se han consagrado al Señor, acérquense y traigan sacrificios y ofrendas de gratitud a la casa del Señor.” Y la asamblea trajo sacrificios y ofrendas de gratitud, y todos los que quisieron trajeron holocaustos.

And Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves to Jehovah, come near and bring sacrifices and thank-offerings into the house of the Lord. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank-offerings; and as many as were of a willing heart, burnt-offerings.

32 E l número de los holocaustos que la asamblea trajo fue de 70 bueyes, 100 carneros y 200 corderos; todos estos fueron para el holocausto al Señor.

And the number of the burnt-offerings, which the congregation brought, was seventy bullocks, a hundred rams, two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt-offering to Jehovah.

33 Y las cosas consagradas fueron 600 bueyes y 3, 000 ovejas.

And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

34 P ero los sacerdotes eran pocos, y no pudieron desollar todos los holocaustos; por eso sus hermanos los Levitas los ayudaron hasta que se acabó la obra y hasta que los otros sacerdotes se hubieron santificado. Porque los Levitas fueron más cuidadosos para santificarse que los sacerdotes.

Only the priests were too few, and they could not flay all the burnt-offerings; therefore their brethren the Levites helped them, until the work was ended, and until the priests had hallowed themselves; for the Levites were more upright in heart to hallow themselves than the priests.

35 H ubo también holocaustos en abundancia con la grasa de las ofrendas de paz y con las libaciones para los holocaustos. Así quedó restablecido el servicio de la casa del Señor.

And also the burnt-offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace-offerings, and with the drink-offerings for the burnt-offering. And the service of the house of Jehovah was set in order.

36 E ntonces Ezequías se regocijó con todo el pueblo por lo que Dios había preparado para el pueblo, pues todo sucedió rápidamente.

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people; for the thing was done suddenly.
