1 E ntonces el Señor le dijo a Moisés:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “ Habla a toda la congregación de los Israelitas y diles: ‘Santos serán porque Yo, el Señor su Dios, soy santo.

Speak unto all the assembly of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Holy shall ye be, for I Jehovah your God am holy.

3 C ada uno de ustedes ha de reverenciar a su madre y a su padre, y guardarán Mis días de reposo. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

Ye shall reverence every man his mother, and his father, and my sabbaths shall ye keep: I am Jehovah your God.

4 N o se vuelvan a los ídolos, ni se hagan dioses de fundición; Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

Ye shall not turn unto idols, and ye shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.

5 C uando ofrezcan sacrificio de ofrendas de paz al Señor, ofrézcanlo de tal manera que sean aceptos.

And if ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance.

6 S erá comido el mismo día que lo ofrezcan y al día siguiente; pero lo que quede hasta el tercer día será quemado en el fuego.

On the day when ye sacrifice it shall it be eaten, and on the morrow; and that which remaineth until the third day shall be burned with fire.

7 Y si se come algo de él en el tercer día, es una abominación; no será acepto.

And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an unclean thing: it shall not be accepted.

8 Y todo el que lo coma llevará su iniquidad, porque ha profanado lo santo del Señor; y esa persona será exterminada de entre su pueblo.

And he that eateth it shall bear his iniquity; for he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.

9 C uando siegues la cosecha de tu tierra, no segarás hasta los últimos rincones de tu campo, ni espigarás el sobrante de tu cosecha.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou shalt not gather.

10 T ampoco rebuscarás tu viña, ni recogerás el fruto caído de tu viña; lo dejarás para el pobre y para el extranjero. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

And thy vineyard shalt thou not glean, neither shalt thou gather what hath been left of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am Jehovah your God.

11 N o hurtarán, ni engañarán, ni se mentirán unos a otros.

Ye shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.

12 Y no jurarán en falso por Mi nombre, profanando así el nombre de tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.

And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

13 N o oprimirás a tu prójimo, ni le robarás. El salario de un jornalero no ha de quedar contigo toda la noche hasta la mañana.

Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of the hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

14 N o maldecirás al sordo, ni pondrás tropiezo delante del ciego, sino que tendrás temor de (reverenciarás a) tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.

Thou shalt not revile a deaf person, and thou shalt not put a stumbling-block before a blind one; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

15 N o harás injusticia en el juicio; no favorecerás al pobre ni complacerás al rico, sino que con justicia juzgarás a tu prójimo.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the lowly, nor honour the person of the great; in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 N o andarás de calumniador entre tu pueblo; no harás nada contra la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy el Señor.

Thou shalt not go about as a talebearer among thy people; thou shalt not stand up against the life of thy neighbour: I am Jehovah.

17 N o odiarás a tu compatriota en tu corazón; ciertamente podrás reprender a tu prójimo, pero no incurrirás en pecado a causa de él.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt earnestly rebuke thy neighbour, lest thou bear sin on account of him.

18 N o te vengarás, ni guardarás rencor a los hijos de tu pueblo, sino que amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy el Señor.

Thou shalt not avenge thyself, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Jehovah.

19 M is estatutos guardarán. No juntarás dos clases distintas de tu ganado; no sembrarás tu campo con dos clases de semilla, ni te pondrás un vestido con mezcla de dos clases de material.

My statutes shall ye observe. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with another sort; thou shalt not sow thy field with seed of two sorts; and a garment woven of two materials shall not come upon thee.

20 S i un hombre se acuesta con una mujer que sea sierva adquirida para otro hombre, pero que no haya sido redimida ni se le haya dado su libertad, habrá castigo; sin embargo, no se les dará muerte, porque ella no era libre.

And if a man lie with a woman for copulation, and she is a bondwoman betrothed to a husband, but not at all ransomed, nor hath freedom been given to her, there shall be a chastisement: they shall not be put to death, for she was not free.

21 P ero él traerá al Señor su ofrenda por la culpa a la entrada de la tienda de reunión; traerá un carnero como ofrenda por la culpa.

And he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a trespass-offering.

22 Y el sacerdote hará expiación por él con el carnero de la ofrenda por la culpa, delante del Señor, por el pecado que ha cometido; y el pecado que ha cometido le será perdonado.

And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath done; and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

23 C uando ustedes entren en la tierra y planten toda clase de árboles frutales, tendrán por prohibido su fruto. Por tres años les será prohibido; no se comerá.

And when ye come into the land and plant all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count its fruit as uncircumcised, three years shall it be uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of;

24 P ero en el cuarto año todo su fruto les será santo, una ofrenda de alabanza al Señor.

and in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy for praise to Jehovah;

25 E n el quinto año comerán de su fruto, para que les aumente su rendimiento. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

and in the fifth year shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may increase unto you the produce thereof: I am Jehovah your God.

26 N o comerán cosa alguna con su sangre, ni serán adivinos ni agoreros.

Ye shall eat nothing with the blood.—Ye shall not practise enchantment, nor use auguries.

27 N o se cortarán los extremos de su cabellera en forma circular, ni se dañarán los bordes de su barba.

—Ye shall not shave the corners of your head round, neither shalt thou mutilate the corners of thy beard.

28 N o se harán sajaduras en su cuerpo por un muerto, ni se harán tatuajes. Yo soy el Señor.

And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.

29 N o degradarás a tu hija haciendo que se prostituya, para que la tierra no se entregue a la prostitución ni se llene de corrupción.

—Do not profane thy daughter, to give her up to whoredom; lest the land practise whoredom, and the land become full of infamy.

30 M is días de reposo guardarán y tendrán Mi santuario en reverencia. Yo soy el Señor.

—My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

31 N o se vuelvan a los adivinos ni a los espiritistas, ni los busquen para ser contaminados por ellos. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

—Turn not unto necromancers and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God.

32 D elante de las canas te pondrás en pie; honrarás al anciano, y a tu Dios temerás (reverenciarás). Yo soy el Señor.

Before the hoary head thou shalt rise up, and shalt honour the face of an old man; and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

33 C uando un extranjero resida con ustedes en su tierra, no lo maltratarán.

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not molest him.

34 E l extranjero que resida con ustedes les será como uno nacido entre ustedes, y lo amarás como a ti mismo, porque ustedes fueron extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

As one born among you shall the stranger who sojourneth with you be unto you; and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

35 N o harán injusticia en los juicios, ni en las medidas de peso ni de capacidad.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measure of length, in weight, and in measure of capacity:

36 T endrán balanzas justas y pesas justas, un efa justo (22 litros) y un hin justo (3. 7 litros). Yo soy el Señor su Dios que los saqué de la tierra de Egipto.

just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37 A sí pues, observarán todos mis estatutos y todas mis ordenanzas, y los cumplirán. Yo soy el Señor.’”

And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.
