1 M oisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron orden al pueblo y dijeron: “Guarden todos los mandamientos que yo les ordeno hoy.

And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.

2 E l día que pasen el Jordán a la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da, levantarás para ti piedras grandes, y las blanquearás con cal,

And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:

3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta ley, cuando hayas pasado, para entrar en la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da, una tierra que mana leche y miel, tal como el Señor, el Dios de tus padres te prometió.

and thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou goest over that thou mayest enter into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah the God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

4 A sí que cuando pases el Jordán, levantarás estas piedras en el Monte Ebal, como yo te ordeno hoy, y las blanquearás con cal.

And it shall be when ye go over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, as I command you this day, on mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.

5 A demás, edificarás allí un altar al Señor tu Dios, un altar de piedras; pero no alzarás sobre ellas herramientas de hierro.

And there shalt thou build an altar to Jehovah thy God, an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up an iron upon them;

6 C onstruirás el altar del Señor tu Dios de piedras enteras; y sobre él ofrecerás holocaustos al Señor tu Dios;

of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt offer up burnt-offerings thereon to Jehovah thy God.

7 y sacrificarás ofrendas de paz y comerás allí, y te alegrarás delante del Señor tu Dios.

And thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before Jehovah thy God.

8 E scribirás claramente en las piedras todas las palabras de esta ley.”

And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

9 E ntonces Moisés y los sacerdotes Levitas dijeron a todo Israel: “Guarda silencio y escucha, oh Israel. Hoy te has convertido en pueblo del Señor tu Dios.

And Moses and the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hearken, Israel! this day thou art become the people of Jehovah thy God.

10 P or tanto, obedecerás al Señor tu Dios, y cumplirás Sus mandamientos y Sus estatutos que hoy te ordeno.” Las Maldiciones

And thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

11 T ambién aquel día Moisés ordenó al pueblo:

And Moses gave commandment to the people the same day, saying,

12 “ Cuando pases el Jordán, estas tribus estarán sobre el Monte Gerizim para bendecir al pueblo: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín.

These shall stand to bless the people upon mount Gerizim, when ye have gone over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 Y para la maldición, estas tribus estarán en el Monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí.

And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14 E ntonces los Levitas responderán y dirán en alta voz a todos los hombres de Israel:

And the Levites shall declare and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice:

15 M aldito el hombre que haga ídolo o imagen de fundición, abominación al Señor, obra de las manos del artífice, y la erige en secreto.’ Y todo el pueblo responderá, y dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten image, an abomination to Jehovah, a work of the craftsman's hand, and putteth it up secretly! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

16 M aldito el que desprecie a su padre o a su madre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that slighteth his father or his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen.

17 M aldito el que cambie el lindero de su vecino.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark! And all the people shall say, Amen.

18 M aldito el que haga errar al ciego en el camino.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way! And all the people shall say, Amen.

19 M aldito el que pervierta el derecho del extranjero, del huérfano y de la viuda.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow! And all the people shall say, Amen.

20 M aldito el que se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque ha descubierto lo que es de su padre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; for he uncovereth his father's skirt! And all the people shall say, Amen.

21 M aldito el que se eche con cualquier animal.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast! And all the people shall say, Amen.

22 M aldito el que se acueste con su hermana, la hija de su padre o de su madre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen.

23 M aldito el que se acueste con su suegra.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law! And all the people shall say, Amen.

24 M aldito el que hiera a su vecino secretamente.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly! And all the people shall say, Amen.

25 M aldito el que acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

Cursed be he that taketh reward to smite mortally innocent blood! And all the people shall say, Amen.

26 M aldito el que no confirme las palabras de esta ley para ponerlas por obra.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’”

Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them! And all the people shall say, Amen.
