1 E l que ama la instrucción ama el conocimiento, Pero el que odia la reprensión es torpe.

Whoso loveth discipline loveth knowledge, but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2 E l bueno alcanzará el favor del Señor, Pero El condenará al hombre de malos designios.

A good obtaineth favour of Jehovah; but a man of mischievous devices will he condemn.

3 E l hombre no se afianzará por medio de la impiedad, Y la raíz de los justos no será removida.

A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 L a mujer virtuosa es corona de su marido, Pero la que lo avergüenza es como podredumbre en sus huesos.

A woman of worth is a crown to her husband; but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5 L os pensamientos de los justos son rectos, Los consejos de los impíos, engañosos.

The thoughts of the righteous are right; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6 L as palabras de los impíos son asechanzas sangrientas, Pero a los rectos su boca los librará.

The words of the wicked are a lying-in-wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

7 L os impíos son derribados y ya no existen, Pero la casa de los justos permanecerá.

Overthrow the wicked, and they are no; but the house of the righteous shall stand.

8 E l hombre será alabado conforme a su discernimiento, Pero el perverso de corazón será despreciado.

A man is commended according to his wisdom; but he that is of a perverted heart shall be despised.

9 M ás vale el poco estimado que tiene siervo, Que el que se alaba y carece de pan.

Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

10 E l justo se preocupa de la vida de su ganado, Pero las entrañas de los impíos son crueles.

A righteous man is concerned for the life of his beast; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 E l que labra su tierra se saciará de pan, Pero el que persigue lo vano carece de entendimiento.

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless is void of understanding.

12 E l impío codicia el botín de los malos, Pero la raíz de los justos da fruto.

The wicked desireth the net of evil; but the root of the righteous yieldeth.

13 E n la transgresión de sus labios se enreda el malvado, Pero el justo escapará del apuro.

In the transgression of the lips is an evil snare; but a righteous shall go forth out of trouble.

14 P or el fruto de su boca cada uno se saciará de bien, Y las obras de las manos del hombre volverán a él.

A man is satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

15 E l camino del necio es recto a sus propios ojos, Pero el que escucha consejos es sabio.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.

16 E l enojo del necio se conoce al instante, Pero el prudente oculta la deshonra.

The vexation of the fool is presently known; but a prudent covereth shame.

17 E l que habla verdad declara lo que es justo, Pero el testigo falso, falsedad.

He that uttereth truth sheweth forth righteousness; but a false witness deceit.

18 H ay quien habla sin tino como golpes de espada, Pero la lengua de los sabios sana.

There is that babbleth like the piercings of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is health.

19 L os labios veraces permanecerán para siempre, Pero la lengua mentirosa, sólo por un momento.

The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 H ay engaño en el corazón de los que traman el mal, Pero gozo en los consejeros de paz.

Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 N ingún daño sobreviene al justo, Pero los impíos están llenos de pesares.

There shall no evil happen to a righteous; but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 L os labios mentirosos son abominación al Señor, Pero los que obran fielmente son Su deleite.

Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; but they that deal truly are his delight.

23 E l hombre prudente oculta su conocimiento, Pero el corazón de los necios proclama su necedad.

A prudent man concealeth knowledge; but the heart of the foolish proclaimeth folly.

24 L a mano de los diligentes gobernará, Pero la indolencia será sujeta a trabajos forzados.

The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25 L a ansiedad en el corazón del hombre lo deprime, Pero la buena palabra lo alegra.

Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop; but a good word maketh it glad.

26 E l justo es guía para su prójimo, Pero el camino de los impíos los extravía.

The righteous guideth his neighbour; but the way of the wicked misleadeth them.

27 E l indolente no asa su presa, Pero la posesión más preciosa del hombre es la diligencia.

The slothful roasteth not what he took in hunting; but man's precious substance is to the diligent.

28 E n la senda de la justicia está la vida, Y en su camino no hay muerte.

In the path of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
