1 O jalá que me soportaran un poco de insensatez, y en verdad me soportan.

Would that ye would bear with me a little folly; but indeed bear with me.

2 P orque celoso estoy de ustedes con celo de Dios; pues los desposé a un esposo para presentarlos como virgen pura a Cristo.

For I am jealous as to you with a jealousy of God; for I have espoused you unto one man, to present a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 P ero temo que, así como la serpiente con su astucia engañó a Eva, las mentes de ustedes sean desviadas de la sencillez y pureza de la devoción a Cristo.

But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craft, your thoughts should be corrupted from simplicity as to the Christ.

4 P orque si alguien viene y predica a otro Jesús, a quien no hemos predicado, o reciben un espíritu diferente, que no han recibido, o aceptan un evangelio distinto, que no han aceptado, bien lo toleran.

For if indeed he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or ye get a different Spirit, which ye have not got, or a different glad tidings, which ye have not received, ye might well bear with.

5 P ues yo no me considero inferior en nada a los más eminentes apóstoles.

For I reckon that in nothing I am behind those who are in surpassing degree apostles.

6 P ero aunque yo sea torpe en el hablar, no lo soy en el conocimiento; de hecho, por todos los medios se lo hemos demostrado en todas las cosas.

But if a simple person in speech, yet not in knowledge, but in everything making manifest in all things to you.

7 ¿ O cometí un pecado al humillarme a mí mismo para que ustedes fueran exaltados, porque les prediqué (anuncié) el evangelio de Dios gratuitamente ?

Have I committed sin, abasing myself in order that ye might be exalted, because I gratuitously announced to you the glad tidings of God?

8 A otras iglesias despojé, tomando salario de ellas para servirles a ustedes.

I spoiled other assemblies, receiving hire for ministry towards you.

9 C uando estaba con ustedes y tuve necesidad, a nadie fui carga; porque cuando los hermanos llegaron de Macedonia, suplieron plenamente mi necesidad, y en todo me guardé, y me guardaré, de serles carga.

And being present with you and lacking, I did not lazily burden any one, (for the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied what I lacked,) and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will keep myself.

10 C omo la verdad de Cristo está en mí, este gloriarme no se me impedirá en las regiones de Acaya.

truth of Christ is in me that this boasting shall not be stopped as to me in the regions of Achaia.

11 ¿ Por qué? ¿Porque no los amo ? ¡Dios lo sabe!

Why? because I do not love you? God knows.

12 P ero lo que hago continuaré haciéndolo, a fin de privar de oportunidad a aquéllos que desean una oportunidad de ser considerados iguales a nosotros en aquello en que se glorían.

But what I do, I will also do, that I may cut off the opportunity of those wishing an opportunity, that wherein they boast they may be found even as we.

13 P orque los tales son falsos apóstoles, obreros fraudulentos, que se disfrazan como apóstoles de Cristo (el Mesías).

For such false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

14 Y no es de extrañar, pues aun Satanás se disfraza como ángel de luz.

And not wonderful, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

15 P or tanto, no es de sorprender que sus servidores también se disfracen como servidores de justicia, cuyo fin será conforme a sus obras. Credenciales de un Apóstol Verdadero

It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

16 O tra vez digo, que nadie me tenga por insensato. Pero si ustedes lo hacen, recíbanme aunque sea como insensato, para que yo también me gloríe un poco.

Again I say, Let not any one think me to be a fool; but if otherwise, receive me then even as a fool, that I also may boast myself some little.

17 L o que digo, no lo digo como lo diría el Señor, sino como en insensatez, en esta confianza de gloriarme.

What I speak I do not speak according to Lord, but as in folly, in this confidence of boasting.

18 P ues ya que muchos se glorían según la carne, yo también me gloriaré.

Since many boast according to flesh, I also will boast.

19 P orque ustedes, siendo tan sabios, con gusto toleran a los insensatos.

For ye bear fools readily, being wise.

20 P ues toleran si alguien los esclaviza, si alguien los devora, si alguien se aprovecha de ustedes, si alguien se exalta a sí mismo, si alguien los golpea en el rostro.

For ye bear if any one bring you into bondage, if any one devour, if any one get, if any one exalt himself, if any one beat you on the face.

21 P ara vergüenza mía digo que en comparación nosotros hemos sido débiles. Pero en cualquier otra cosa que alguien más sea osado (hablo con insensatez ) yo soy igualmente osado.

I speak as to dishonour, as though we had been weak; but wherein any one is daring, (I speak in folly,) I also am daring.

22 ¿ Son ellos Hebreos ? Yo también. ¿Son Israelitas? Yo también. ¿Son descendientes de Abraham ? Yo también.

Are they Hebrews? I also. Are they Israelites? I also. Are they seed of Abraham? I also.

23 ¿ Son servidores de Cristo ? (Hablo como si hubiera perdido el juicio) yo más. En muchos más trabajos, en muchas más cárceles, en azotes un sinnúmero de veces, con frecuencia en peligros de muerte.

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as being beside myself) I above measure; in labours exceedingly abundant, in stripes to excess, in prisons exceedingly abundant, in deaths oft.

24 C inco veces he recibido de los Judíos treinta y nueve azotes.

From the Jews five times have I received forty, save one.

25 T res veces he sido golpeado con varas, una vez fui apedreado, tres veces naufragué, y he pasado una noche y un día en lo profundo.

Thrice have I been scourged, once I have been stoned, three times I have suffered shipwreck, a night and day I passed in the deep:

26 C on frecuencia en viajes, en peligros de ríos, peligros de salteadores, peligros de mis compatriotas, peligros de los Gentiles, peligros en la ciudad, peligros en el desierto, peligros en el mar, peligros entre falsos hermanos;

in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from race, in perils from nations, in perils in city, in perils in desert, in perils on sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 e n trabajos y fatigas, en muchas noches de desvelo, en hambre y sed, con frecuencia sin comida, en frío y desnudez.

in labour and toil, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 A demás de tales cosas externas, está sobre mí la presión cotidiana de la preocupación por todas las iglesias.

Besides those things that are without, the crowd pressing on me daily, the burden of all the assemblies.

29 ¿ Quién es débil sin que yo sea débil ? ¿A quién se le hace pecar sin que yo no me preocupe intensamente ?

Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is stumbled, and I burn not?

30 S i tengo que gloriarme, me gloriaré en cuanto a mi debilidad.

If it is needful to boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.

31 E l Dios y Padre del Señor Jesús, el cual es bendito para siempre, sabe que no miento.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus knows—he who is blessed for ever—that I do not lie.

32 E n Damasco, el gobernador bajo el rey Aretas, vigilaba la ciudad de los Damascenos con el fin de prenderme.

In Damascus the ethnarch of Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes shut up, wishing to take me;

33 P ero me bajaron en un cesto por una ventana en la muralla, y así escapé de sus manos.

and through a window in a basket I was let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
