1 C anten con gozo a Dios, fortaleza nuestra; Aclamen con júbilo al Dios de Jacob.

Sing ye joyously unto God our strength, shout aloud unto the God of Jacob;

2 E ntonen canto de alabanza, y toquen el pandero, La melodiosa lira con el arpa.

Raise a song, and sound the tambour, the pleasant harp with the lute.

3 T oquen la trompeta en la luna nueva, En la luna llena, en el día de nuestra fiesta.

Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day:

4 P orque es estatuto para Israel, Ordenanza del Dios de Jacob.

For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob;

5 E l lo estableció por testimonio en José, Cuando salió sobre la tierra de Egipto. Un lenguaje que yo no conocía, oí:

He ordained it in Joseph a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I knew not.

6 “ Yo libré su hombro de la carga, Sus manos se libraron de las canastas.

I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.

7 E n la angustia llamaste, y Yo te rescaté; Te respondí en el escondite del trueno; En las aguas de Meriba te probé. (Selah)

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8 O ye, pueblo Mío, y te amonestaré. ¡Oh Israel, si tú Me oyeras!

Hear, my people, and I will testify unto thee; O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!

9 N o haya en ti dios ajeno, Ni adores a dios extranjero.

There shall no strange god be in thee, neither shalt thou worship any foreign god.

10 Y o, el Señor, soy tu Dios, Que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto; Abre bien tu boca y la llenaré.

I am Jehovah thy God, that brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 P ero Mi pueblo no escuchó Mi voz; Israel no Me obedeció.

But my people hearkened not to my voice, and Israel would none of me.

12 P or eso los entregué a la dureza de su corazón, Para que anduvieran en sus propias intrigas.

So I gave them up unto their own hearts' stubbornness: they walked after their own counsels.

13 ¡ Oh, si Mi pueblo me oyera, Si Israel anduviera en Mis caminos!

Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, that Israel had walked in my ways!

14 E n un momento Yo subyugaría a sus enemigos Y volvería Mi mano contra sus adversarios.

I would soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 L os que aborrecen al Señor Le fingirían obediencia, Y el tiempo de su castigo sería para siempre.

The haters of Jehovah would have come cringing unto him; but their time would have been for ever.

16 P ero Yo te alimentaría con lo mejor del trigo, Y con miel de la peña te saciaría.”

And he would have fed them with the finest of wheat; yea, with honey out of the rock would I have satisfied thee.
