1 E ntonces el Señor habló a Moisés:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “ Di a los Israelitas: ‘Cuando una mujer dé a luz y tenga varón, quedará impura por siete días; como en los días de su menstruación, será impura.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a male, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the separation of her infirmity shall she be unclean.

3 A l octavo día la carne del prepucio del niño será circuncidada.

And on the eighth day shall the flesh of his foreskin be circumcised.

4 Y ella permanecerá en la sangre de su purificación por treinta y tres días; no tocará ninguna cosa consagrada ni entrará al santuario hasta que los días de su purificación sean cumplidos.

And she shall continue thirty-three days in the blood of her cleansing; no holy thing shall she touch, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her cleansing are fulfilled.

5 P ero si da a luz una niña, quedará impura por dos semanas, como en los días de su menstruación; y permanecerá en la sangre de su purificación por sesenta y seis días.

And if she bear a female, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation; and she shall continue sixty-six days in the blood of her cleansing.

6 C uando se cumplan los días de su purificación por un hijo o por una hija, traerá al sacerdote, a la entrada de la tienda de reunión, un cordero de un año como holocausto, y un pichón o una tórtola como ofrenda por el pecado.

And when the days of her cleansing are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a yearling lamb for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon or a turtle-dove for a sin-offering, to the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest.

7 E ntonces él los ofrecerá delante del Señor y hará expiación por ella, y quedará limpia del flujo de su sangre. Esta es la ley para la que da a luz, sea hijo o hija.

And he shall present it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her; and she shall be clean from the flux of her blood. This is the law for her that hath borne a male or a female.

8 P ero si no le alcanzan los recursos para ofrecer un cordero, entonces tomará dos tórtolas o dos pichones, uno para el holocausto y el otro para la ofrenda por el pecado; y el sacerdote hará expiación por ella, y quedará limpia.’”

And if her hand cannot find what is sufficient for a sheep, she shall bring two turtle-doves or two young pigeons; one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her; and she shall be clean.
