1 Є зекія зацарював у віці двадцяти й п'яти літ, а двадцять і дев'ять літ царював він в Єрусалимі. А ім'я його матері Авійя, дочка Захарії.

Hezekiah began to reign being twenty-five years old; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Abijah, daughter of Zechariah.

2 І робив він угодне в Господніх очах, як усе, що робив був його батько Давид.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that David his father had done.

3 В ін першого року свого царювання, місяця першого відчинив двері Господнього дому, і поправив їх.

He, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Jehovah, and repaired them.

4 І привів він священиків та Левитів, і зібрав їх на східню площу,

And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them into the open place eastward;

5 т а й сказав їм: Послухайте мене, Левити! Освятіться тепер, і освятіть дім Господа, Бога ваших батьків, і винесіть нечисть із святині.

and he said to them, Hear me, ye Levites: hallow yourselves now, and hallow the house of Jehovah the God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the sanctuary.

6 Б о наші батьки спроневірилися, і робили лихе в очах Господа, Бога нашого, і залишили Його, і відвернули своє обличчя від Господньої скинії, й обернулися спиною до неї.

For our fathers have transgressed, and done evil in the sight of Jehovah our God, and have forsaken him and turned away their faces from the habitation of Jehovah, and have turned their backs.

7 Т акож замкнули вони двері притвору, і погасили лямпадки, а кадила не кадили, і цілопалення не приносили в святині для Ізраїлевого Бога.

Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered up burnt-offerings in the sanctuary to the God of Israel.

8 І був Господній гнів на Юду та на Єрусалим, і Він дав їх на ганьбу, і на спустошення, і на посміховище, як ви бачите своїми очима.

Therefore the wrath of Jehovah has been upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to vexation, to desolation, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

9 І ось попадали наші батьки від меча, а наші сини, і наші дочки, і жінки наші в неволі за це!

And behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

10 Т епер на моєму серці лежить скласти заповіта з Господом, Ізраїлевим Богом, і нехай Він відверне від нас жар гніву Свого.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

11 С ини мої, не будьте недбалі тепер, бо вас Господь вибрав ставати перед лицем Його на службу Йому, та щоб служити Йому й кадити Йому!

My sons, be not now negligent; for Jehovah has chosen you to stand before him, to do service unto him, and to be his ministers and incense-burners.

12 І встали Левити: Махат, син Амасаїв, і Йоїл, син Азарії, від синів Кегатових; а від синів Мерарієвих: Кіш, син Авдіїв, і Азарія, син Єгаллел'їлів; а від Ґершонівців: Йоах, син Зіммин, і Еден, син Йоахів;

Then the Levites rose up, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalleleel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;

13 а від синів Еліцафанових: Шімрі, і Єіїл; а від синів Асафових: Захарій та Маттанія.

and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;

14 А від Геманових синів: Єхіїл, і Шім'ї; а від синів Єдутунових: Шемая та Уззіїл.

and of the sons of Heman, Jehiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 І зібрали вони братів своїх, і освятилися, і пішли за наказом царським у справах Господніх, щоб очистити Господній дім.

And they gathered their brethren, and hallowed themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king by the words of Jehovah, to cleanse the house of Jehovah.

16 І повходили священики до середини Господнього дому на очищення. І повиносили вони всю нечистість, яку знайшли в Господньому храмі, до подвір'я Господнього дому, а Левити взяли це, щоб винести назовні до долини Кедрон.

And the priests went into the inner part of the house of Jehovah to cleanse it, and carried forth all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of Jehovah, into the court of the house of Jehovah. And the Levites took it to carry it forth into the brook Kidron.

17 І зачали вони першого дня першого місяця освящати, а восьмого дня того місяця ввійшли до Господнього притвору. І освятили вони Господній дім за вісім день, а шістнадцятого дня першого місяця закінчили.

And they began on the first of the first month to hallow, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of Jehovah; and they hallowed the house of Jehovah eight days; and on the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

18 І ввійшли вони в середину дому до царя Єзекії та й сказали: Очистили ми ввесь Господній дім, і жертівника цілопалення, та всі його речі, і стіл укладання хлібів та всі його речі.

And they went in to king Hezekiah, and said, We have cleansed all the house of Jehovah, and the altar of burnt-offering with all its vessels, and the table of the to be set in rows, and all its vessels;

19 А всі ті речі, які цар Ахаз занехав був за свого царювання, коли спроневірився, ми приготовили та освятили, і ось вони перед Господнім жертівником.

and all the vessels that king Ahaz in his reign cast away in his transgression have we prepared and hallowed, and behold, they are before the altar of Jehovah.

20 І встав рано цар Єзекія, і зібрав зверхників міста та й увійшов до Господнього дому.

And Hezekiah the king arose early, and gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the house of Jehovah.

21 І привели вони сім биків, і сім баранів, і сім овечок, і сім козлів на жертву за гріх: за царство, і за святиню, і за Юду, а він звелів Аароновим синам, священикам, принести це в жертву на Господньому жертівнику.

And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he-goats for a sin-offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer upon the altar of Jehovah.

22 І порізали ту велику худобу, а священики прийняли кров і покропили на жертівника; і порізали баранів, і покропили ту кров на жертівника; і порізали овечок, і покропили ту кров на жертівника.

And they slaughtered the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar; and they slaughtered the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar; and they slaughtered the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

23 І привели козлів жертви за гріх перед царя та збори, і вони поклали свої руки на них.

And they brought near the he-goats of the sin-offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them.

24 І зарізали їх священики, а їхньою кров'ю очистили жертівника, щоб очистити всього Ізраїля, бо за всього Ізраїля звелів цар принести це цілопалення та цю жертву за гріх.

And the priests slaughtered them, and they made purification for sin with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel; because for all Israel, said the king, is the burnt-offering and the sin-offering.

25 І поставив він Левитів Господнього дому з цимбалами, з арфами та з цитрами, за наказом Давида та Ґада, царевого прозорливця, та пророка Натана, бо в руці Господа наказ, що йде через пророків Його.

And he set the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with lutes, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was of Jehovah through his prophets.

26 І поставали Левити з Давидовим знаряддям, а священики із сурмами.

And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

27 І сказав Єзекія принести цілопалення на жертівника. А коли розпочали цілопалення, зачався спів Господеві та звуки сурем і музичного знаряддя Давида, Ізраїлевого царя.

And Hezekiah commanded to offer up the burnt-offering on the altar. And at the moment the burnt-offering began, the song of Jehovah began, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.

28 І ввесь збір вклонився, і співаки співали, а сурми сурмили, це все аж до кінця цілопалення!

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded, all until the burnt-offering was finished.

29 А як скінчили приносити жертву, попадали навколішки цар та всі, що були з ним, і вклонилися.

And when they had ended offering the burnt-offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves and worshipped.

30 І сказав цар Єзекія та зверхники до Левитів, щоб вони хвалили Господа словами Давида та прозорливця Асафа, і вони хвалили з великою радістю, і схилялися, і вклонялися до землі.

And king Hezekiah and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise to Jehovah with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and bowed their heads and worshipped.

31 І відповів Єзекія й сказав: Тепер ви освячені для Господа. Підійдіть, і приведіть жертви та приноси вдячні для Господнього дому. І привів збір жертви та приноси вдячні, і кожен, хто мав жертвенне серце, приносив цілопалення.

And Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves to Jehovah, come near and bring sacrifices and thank-offerings into the house of the Lord. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank-offerings; and as many as were of a willing heart, burnt-offerings.

32 І було число цілопалення, що спровадив збір: худоби великої сімдесят, баранів сотня, овечок двісті, для цілопалення Господеві все це.

And the number of the burnt-offerings, which the congregation brought, was seventy bullocks, a hundred rams, two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt-offering to Jehovah.

33 А для святости: худоби великої шість сотень, а худоби дрібної три тисячі.

And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

34 Т ільки священиків було мало, і не могли вони обдирати шкур зо всіх цілопалень; і допомагали їм їхні брати Левити аж до скінчення праці, і поки освятилися священики, бо Левити були простосердіші на освячення, аніж священики.

Only the priests were too few, and they could not flay all the burnt-offerings; therefore their brethren the Levites helped them, until the work was ended, and until the priests had hallowed themselves; for the Levites were more upright in heart to hallow themselves than the priests.

35 І також було багато палень серед мирних жертов і серед жертов литих до цілопалення. І так була відновлена служба Господнього дому.

And also the burnt-offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace-offerings, and with the drink-offerings for the burnt-offering. And the service of the house of Jehovah was set in order.

36 І радів Єзекія та ввесь народ тим, що Бог приготовив для народу, бо та річ сталася несподівано!

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people; for the thing was done suddenly.
