1 Д іти, слухайтеся своїх батьків у Господі, бо це справедливе!

Children, obey your parents in Lord, for this is just.

2 Ш ануй свого батька та матір це перша заповідь з обітницею,

Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,

3 щ об добре велося тобі, і щоб ти був на землі довголітній!

that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth.

4 А батьки, не дратуйте дітей своїх, а виховуйте їх в напоминанні й остереженні Божому!

And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in discipline and admonition of Lord.

5 Р аби, слухайтеся тілесних панів зо страхом і тремтінням у простоті серця вашого, як Христа!

Bondmen, obey masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ;

6 Н е працюйте тільки про людське око, немов чоловіковгодники, а як раби Христові, чиніть від душі волю Божу,

not with eye-service as men-pleasers; but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from soul,

7 с лужіть із зичливістю, немов Господеві, а не людям!

serving with good will as to the Lord, and not to men;

8 З найте, що кожен, коли зробить що добре, те саме одержить від Господа, чи то раб, чи то вільний.

knowing that whatever good each shall do, this he shall receive of Lord, whether bond or free.

9 А пани, чиніть їм те саме, занехаюйте погрози, знайте, що для вас і для них є на небі Господь, а Він на обличчя не дивиться!

And, masters, do the same things towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that both their and your Master is in heaven, and there is no acceptance of persons with him.

10 Н арешті, мої брати, зміцняйтеся Господом та могутністю сили Його!

For the rest, brethren, be strong in Lord, and in the might of his strength.

11 З одягніться в повну Божу зброю, щоб могли ви стати проти хитрощів диявольських.

Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil:

12 Б о ми не маємо боротьби проти крови та тіла, але проти початків, проти влади, проти світоправителів цієї темряви, проти піднебесних духів злоби.

because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual of wickedness in the heavenlies.

13 Ч ерез це візьміть повну Божу зброю, щоб могли ви дати опір дня злого, і, все виконавши, витримати.

For this reason take the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand.

14 О тже, стійте, підперезавши стегна свої правдою, і зодягнувшись у броню праведности,

Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 і взувши ноги в готовість Євангелії миру.

and shod your feet with preparation of the glad tidings of peace:

16 А найбільш над усе візьміть щита віри, яким зможете погасити всі огненні стріли лукавого.

besides all, having taken the shield of faith with which ye will be able to quench all the inflamed darts of the wicked one.

17 В ізьміть і шолома спасіння, і меча духовного, який є Слово Боже.

Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word;

18 У сякою молитвою й благанням кожного часу моліться духом, а для того пильнуйте з повною витривалістю та молитвою за всіх святих,

praying at all seasons, with all prayer and supplication in Spirit, and watching unto this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;

19 і за мене, щоб дане було мені слово відкрити уста свої, і зо сміливістю провіщати таємницю Євангелії,

and for me in order that utterance may be given to me in opening of my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the glad tidings,

20 д ля якої посол я в кайданах, щоб сміливо про неї звіщати, як належить мені.

for which I am an ambassador with a chain, that I may be bold in it as I ought to speak.

21 А щоб знали і ви щось про мене, та що я роблю, то все вам розповість Тихик, улюблений брат і в Господі вірний служитель,

But in order that ye also may know what concerns me, how I am getting on, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in Lord, shall make all things known to you;

22 я кого послав я до вас на це саме, щоб довідалися ви про нас, і щоб ваші серця він потішив.

whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.

23 М ир братам і любов із вірою від Бога Отця й Господа Ісуса Христа!

Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God Father and Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Б лагодать зо всіма, що незмінно люблять Господа нашого Ісуса Христа! Амінь.

Grace with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption.
