1 Д ля диригенту хору. Раба Господнього Давида. (36-2) Грішне слово безбожного в серці моїм: Нема страху Божого перед очима його,

The transgression of the wicked uttereth within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes.

2 ( 36-3) бо в очах своїх він до себе підлещується, щоб буцім то гріх свій знайти, щоб зненавидіти.

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, when his iniquity is found to be hateful.

3 ( 36-4) Слова його уст то марнота й обмана, перестав він бути мудрим, щоб чинити добро.

The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.

4 ( 36-5) Беззаконство задумує він на постелі своїй, стає на дорозі недобрій, не цурається злого.

He deviseth wickedness up on his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good: he abhorreth not evil.

5 ( 36-6) Господи, аж до небес милосердя Твоє, аж до хмар Твоя вірність,

Jehovah, thy loving-kindness is in the heavens, and thy faithfulness unto the clouds.

6 ( 36-7) Твоя справедливість немов гори Божі, Твої суди безодня велика, людину й худобу спасаєш Ти, Господи!

Thy righteousness is like the high mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: thou, Jehovah, preservest man and beast.

7 ( 36-8) Яка дорога Твоя милість, о Боже, і ховаються людські сини в тіні Твоїх крил:

How precious is thy loving-kindness, O God! So the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

8 ( 36-9) вони з ситости дому Твого напоюються, і Ти їх напуваєш з потока Своїх солодощів,

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

9 ( 36-10) бо в Тебе джерело життя, в Твоїм світлі побачимо світло!

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 ( 36-11) Продовж Свою милість на тих, хто знає Тебе, а правду Свою на людей щиросердих!

Continue thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart;

11 ( 36-12) Нога пишних нехай не наступить на мене, і безбожна рука нехай не викидає мене!

Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 ( 36-13) Попадали там беззаконники, повалено їх і встати не зможуть.

There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and are not able to rise.
