1 І співала Девора й Барак, син Авіноамів, того дня, говорячи:

3 П очуйте, царі, уші наставте, князі: я Господеві я буду співати, виспівувати буду Господа, Бога Ізраїля!

Hear, ye kings; give ear, ye princes, I, I, will sing to Jehovah; I will hymn to Jehovah the God of Israel.

4 Г осподи, як Ти йшов із Сеїру, як виходив із поля едомського, то тремтіла земля, також капало небо, і хмари дощили водою.

Jehovah, when thou wentest forth from Seir, When thou marchedst out of the fields of Edom, The earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, Yea, the clouds dropped water.

5 П еред Господнім лицем розпливалися гори, цей Сінай перед Господом, Богом Ізраїля.

The mountains quaked before the face of Jehovah, That Sinai, from before Jehovah the God of Israel.

6 З а днів Шамґара, сина Анатового, спорожніли дороги, подорожні ж ходили крутими дорогами.

In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, The roads were unused, and the travellers on highways went by crooked paths.

7 Н е стало селянства в Ізраїлі, не стало, аж поки я не повстала, Девора, аж поки я не повстала, мати в Ізраїлі.

9 С ерце моє до Ізраїлевих тих начальників, що жертвуються для народу, поблагословіте ви Господа!

10 Т і, хто їздить на білих ослицях, хто сидить на килимах та дорогою ходить, оповідайте!

Ye that ride on white she-asses, ye that sit on carpets, and ye that walk by the way, consider.

11 Ч ерез крик при ділінні здобичі між місцями, де воду беруть, там виспівують правди Господні, правди селянства Його у Ізраїлі. Тоді то зійшов був до брам Господній народ.

Because of the voice of those who divide in the midst of the places of drawing water; There they rehearse the righteous acts of Jehovah, His righteous acts toward his villages in Israel. Then the people of Jehovah went down to the gates.

12 З будися, збудися, Деворо! Збудися, збудися, і пісню співай! Устань, Бараку, і візьми до неволі своїх полонених, сину Авіноамів!

Awake, awake, Deborah! awake, awake, utter a song! Arise, Barak, and lead captive thy captives, thou son of Abinoam!

13 Т оді позосталий зійшов до потужних народу, проти хоробрих Господь був до мене зійшов.

Then come down, thou, the remnant of nobles, people; Jehovah! come down with me in the midst of the mighty ones.

14 В ід Єфрема прийшли були ті, що в Амалику їх корень; Веніямин за тобою, серед народів твоїх; від Махіра зійшли були провідники; а від Завулона оті, хто веде пером писаря.

Out of Ephraim those whose root was in Amalek; After thee was Benjamin among thy peoples. Out of Machir came down governors, And out of Zebulun they that handled the staff of the ruler.

15 І князі Іссахарові разом з Деворою, і Іссахар, як Барак, був відпущений пішки в долину. Великі вивідування у Рувимових відділах!

And the princes in Issachar were with Deborah; And Issachar, like Barak; They were sent into the valley at his feet. In the divisions of Reuben there were great resolves of heart!

16 Ч ого ти усівсь між кошарами, щоб слухати мекання стад? Великі вивідування у Рувимових відділах!

17 П робуває Ґілеад на тім боці Йордану, а Дан чому на кораблях буде мешкати він? На березі моря осівся Асир, і при потоках своїх пробуває.

Gilead abode beyond Jordan; And Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat on the sea-shore, And abode in his creeks.

18 З авулон це народ, що прирік свою душу на смерть, а Нефталим на польових висотах.

Zebulun is a people jeoparded their lives unto death, Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.

19 Ц арі прибули, воювали, тоді воювали царі ханаанські в Таанах при воді Меґідда, та здобичі срібла не взяли.

Kings came,—they fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan; At Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; They took no spoil of silver.

20 І з неба войовано, зорі з доріг своїх битих воювали з Сісерою.

From heaven was the fight; The stars from their courses fought with Sisera.

21 К ішонський потік позмітав їх, потік стародавній, Кішонський потік. З силою будеш ступати, о душе моя!

The torrent of Kishon swept them away, That ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon. My soul, thou hast trodden down strength!

22 Т оді стукотіли копита коня від бігу швидкого, від бігу його скакунів!

Then did the horse-hoofs clatter with the coursings, The coursings of their steeds.

23 П рокляніте Мероза, каже Ангол Господній, проклясти прокляніть його мешканців, бо вони не прийшли Господеві на поміч, Господеві на поміч з хоробрими!

Curse Meroz, saith the Angel of Jehovah; Curse, curse the inhabitants thereof; For they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah among the mighty.

24 Н ехай буде благословенна між жінками Яїл, жінка кенанеянина Хевера, нехай буде благословенна вона між жінками в наметі.

25 В оди він просив подала молока, у царській чаші принесла п'янке молоко.

26 Л іву руку свою до кілка простягає, а правицю свою до молотка робітничого. І вгатила Сісеру, і розбила вона йому голову, і скроню розбила й пробила йому..

27 М іж ноги її він схилився, упав і лежав, між ноги її він схилився, упав, де схиливсь, там забитий упав.

Between her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell, overcome.

28 Ч ерез вікно виглядала та голосила Сісерина мати крізь ґрати: Чому колесниця його припізнилась вернутись? Чому припізнились колеса запряжок його?

Them other of Sisera looketh out at the window, And crieth through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the trampings of his chariots?

29 М удрі княгині її дають відповідь їй, та й вона сама відповідає собі:

The wise amongst her ladies answer, Yea, she returneth answer to herself,

30 О сь здобич знаходять та ділять вони, бранка, дві бранці на кожного мужа! А здобич із шат кольорових Сісері, здобич із шат кольорових, різнобарвна тканина, на два боки гаптована, жінці на шию.

Have they not found, divided the booty, A damsel, two damsels, to each? A booty of dyed stuffs for Sisera, A booty of dyed stuffs of embroidery, Dyed stuff of double embroidery for the neck of a spoiler?

31 Н ехай отак згинуть усі вороги Твої, Господи! А хто любить Його, той як сонце, що сходить у силі своїй! І Край мав мир сорок літ.

So let all thine enemies perish, Jehovah! But let them that love him be as the rising of the sun in its might. And the land had rest forty years.
