1 И продолжал Елиуй и сказал:

And Elihu proceeded and said,

2 п одожди меня немного, и я покажу тебе, что я имею еще что сказать за Бога.

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.

3 Н ачну мои рассуждения издалека и воздам Создателю моему справедливость,

I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.

4 п отому что слова мои точно не ложь: пред тобою--совершенный в познаниях.

For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.

5 В от, Бог могуществен и не презирает сильного крепостью сердца;

Lo, God is mighty, but despiseth not; mighty in strength of understanding:

6 О н не поддерживает нечестивых и воздает должное угнетенным;

He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.

7 О н не отвращает очей Своих от праведников, но с царями навсегда посаждает их на престоле, и они возвышаются.

He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.

8 Е сли же они окованы цепями и содержатся в узах бедствия,

And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,

9 т о Он указывает им на дела их и на беззакония их, потому что умножились,

Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.

10 и открывает их ухо для вразумления и говорит им, чтоб они отстали от нечестия.

And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 Е сли послушают и будут служить Ему, то проведут дни свои в благополучии и лета свои в радости;

If they hearken and serve, they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 е сли же не послушают, то погибнут от стрелы и умрут в неразумии.

But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.

13 Н о лицемеры питают в сердце гнев и не взывают к Нему, когда Он заключает их в узы;

But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:

14 п оэтому душа их умирает в молодости и жизнь их с блудниками.

Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15 О н спасает бедного от беды его и в угнетении открывает ухо его.

But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in oppression.

16 И тебя вывел бы Он из тесноты на простор, где нет стеснения, и поставляемое на стол твой было бы наполнено туком;

Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table full of fatness.

17 н о ты преисполнен суждениями нечестивых: суждение и осуждение--близки.

But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold.

18 Д а не поразит тебя гнев наказанием! Большой выкуп не спасет тебя.

Because there is wrath, lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.

19 Д аст ли Он какую цену твоему богатству? Нет, --ни золоту и никакому сокровищу.

Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!

20 Н е желай той ночи, когда народы истребляются на своем месте.

Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.

21 Б ерегись, не склоняйся к нечестию, которое ты предпочел страданию.

Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

22 Б ог высок могуществом Своим, и кто такой, как Он, наставник?

Lo, God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?

23 К то укажет Ему путь Его; кто может сказать: Ты поступаешь несправедливо?

Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?

24 П омни о том, чтобы превозносить дела его, которые люди видят.

Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.

25 В се люди могут видеть их; человек может усматривать их издали.

All men look at it; man beholdeth afar off.

26 В от, Бог велик, и мы не можем познать Его; число лет Его неисследимо.

Lo, God is great, and we comprehend not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

27 О н собирает капли воды; они во множестве изливаются дождем:

For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,

28 и з облаков каплют и изливаются обильно на людей.

Which the skies pour down drop upon man abundantly.

29 К то может также постигнуть протяжение облаков, треск шатра Его?

But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, the crashing of his pavilion?

30 В от, Он распространяет над ним свет Свой и покрывает дно моря.

Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

31 О ттуда Он судит народы, дает пищу в изобилии.

For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.

32 О н сокрывает в дланях Своих молнию и повелевает ей, кого разить.

hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.

33 Т реск ее дает знать о ней; скот также чувствует происходящее.

His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming.
