1 С тарец--избранной госпоже и детям ее, которых я люблю по истине, и не только я, но и все, познавшие истину,

The elder to elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only but also all who have known the truth,

2 р ади истины, которая пребывает в нас и будет с нами вовек.

for the truth's sake which abides in us and shall be with us to eternity.

3 Д а будет с вами благодать, милость, мир от Бога Отца и от Господа Иисуса Христа, Сына Отчего, в истине и любви.

Grace shall be with you, mercy, peace from God Father, and from Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

4 Я весьма обрадовался, что нашел из детей твоих, ходящих в истине, как мы получили заповедь от Отца.

I rejoiced greatly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received commandment from the Father.

5 И ныне прошу тебя, госпожа, не как новую заповедь предписывая тебе, но ту, которую имеем от начала, чтобы мы любили друг друга.

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we have had from beginning, that we should love one another.

6 Л юбовь же состоит в том, чтобы мы поступали по заповедям Его. Это та заповедь, которую вы слышали от начала, чтобы поступали по ней.

And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it.

7 И бо многие обольстители вошли в мир, не исповедующие Иисуса Христа, пришедшего во плоти: такой есть обольститель и антихрист.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh—this is the deceiver and the antichrist.

8 Н аблюдайте за собою, чтобы нам не потерять того, над чем мы трудились, но чтобы получить полную награду.

See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages.

9 В сякий, преступающий учение Христово и не пребывающий в нем, не имеет Бога; пребывающий в учении Христовом имеет и Отца и Сына.

Whosoever goes forward and abides not in the doctrine of the Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine, he has both the Father and the Son.

10 К то приходит к вам и не приносит сего учения, того не принимайте в дом и не приветствуйте его.

If any one come to you and bring not this doctrine, do not receive him into house, and greet him not;

11 И бо приветствующий его участвует в злых делах его.

for he who greets him partakes in his wicked works.

12 М ногое имею писать вам, но не хочу на бумаге чернилами, а надеюсь придти к вам и говорить устами к устам, чтобы радость ваша была полна.

Having many things to write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full.

13 П риветствуют тебя дети сестры твоей избранной. Аминь.

The children of thine elect sister greet thee.
