1 T herefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed,

Sfatuiesc pe prezbiterii dintre voi, eu, care sunt un prezbiter ca si ei, un martor al patimilor lui Hristos, si partas al slavei care va fi descoperita:

2 s hepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness;

pastoriti turma lui Dumnezeu care este sub paza voastra, nu de sila, ci de buna voie, dupa voia lui Dumnezeu; nu pentru un cistig mirsav, ci cu lepadare de sine.

3 n or yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock.

Nu ca si cum ati stapini peste cei ce v-au cazut la imparteala, ci facindu-va pilde turmei.

4 A nd when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Si cind Se va arata Pastorul cel mare, veti capata cununa, care nu se poate vesteji, a slavei.

5 Y ou younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Tot asa si voi, tinerilor, fiti supusi celor batrini. Si toti, in legaturile voastre, sa fiti impodobiti cu smerenie. Caci "Dumnezeu sta impotriva celor mindri, dar celor smeriti le da har."

6 T herefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,

Smeriti-va dar sub mina tare a lui Dumnezeu, pentru ca, la vremea Lui, El sa va inalte.

7 c asting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Si aruncati asupra Lui toate ingrijorarile voastre, caci El insusi ingrijeste de voi. Pentru ca potrivnicul vostru, diavolul, da tircoale ca un leu care racneste, si cauta pe cine sa inghita.

8 B e of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Fiti treji, si vegheati!

9 B ut resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

Impotriviti-va lui tari in credinta, stiind ca si fratii vostri in lume trec prin aceleasi suferinte ca voi.

10 A fter you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

Dumnezeul oricarui har, care v-a chemat in Hristos Isus la slava Sa vesnica, dupa ce veti suferi putina vreme, va va desavirsi, va va intari, va va da putere si va va face neclintiti.

11 T o Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

A Lui sa fie slava si puterea in vecii vecilor! Amin.

12 T hrough Silvanus, our faithful brother (for so I regard him ), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!

V-am scris aceste putine rinduri prin Silvan, care cred ca este un frate credincios, ca sa va sfatuiesc si sa va adeveresc ca adevaratul har al lui Dumnezeu este harul acesta, de care v-ati alipit.

Biserica aleasa cu voi, care este in Babilon, va trimite sanatate. Tot asa si Marcu, fiul meu.
