1 O God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance; They have defiled Your holy temple; They have laid Jerusalem in ruins.

(Un psalm al lui Asaf.) Dumnezeule, au năvălit neamurile în moştenirea Ta, au pîngărit Templul Tău cel sfînt, şi au prefăcut Ierusalimul într'un morman de pietre.

2 T hey have given the dead bodies of Your servants for food to the birds of the heavens, The flesh of Your godly ones to the beasts of the earth.

Trupurile neînsufleţite ale robilor Tăi le-au dat să le mănînce păsările cerului, şi carnea credincioşilor Tăi au dat -o s'o mănînce fiarele pămîntului.

3 T hey have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem; And there was no one to bury them.

Ca apa le-au vărsat sîngele, de jur împrejurul Ierusalimului, şi n'a fost nimeni să -i îngroape.

4 W e have become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to those around us.

Am ajuns de ocara vecinilor noştri, de batjocura şi de rîsul celor ce ne înconjoară.

5 H ow long, O Lord ? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?

Pînă cînd, Doamne, Te vei mînia fără încetare, şi va arde mînia Ta ca focul?

6 P our out Your wrath upon the nations which do not know You, And upon the kingdoms which do not call upon Your name.

Varsă-Ţi mînia peste neamurile, cari nu Te cunosc, şi peste împărăţiile, cari nu cheamă Numele Tău!

7 F or they have devoured Jacob And laid waste his habitation.

Căci au mîncat pe Iacov, şi i-au pustiit locuinţa.

8 D o not remember the iniquities of our forefathers against us; Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, For we are brought very low.

Nu-Ţi mai aduce aminte de nelegiuirile strămoşilor noştri, ci să ne iese degrab înainte îndurările Tale! Căci sîntem nenorociţi de tot!

9 H elp us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake.

Ajută-ne, Dumnezeul mîntuirii noastre, pentru slava Numelui Tău! Izbăveşte-ne, şi iartă-ne păcatele, pentru Numele Tău!

10 W hy should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight, Vengeance for the blood of Your servants which has been shed.

Pentruce să zică neamurile:,, Unde este Dumnezeul lor?`` Să se ştie, înaintea ochilor noştri, printre neamuri, că Tu răzbuni sîngele vărsat al robilor Tăi!

11 L et the groaning of the prisoner come before You; According to the greatness of Your power preserve those who are doomed to die.

Să ajungă pînă la Tine gemetele prinşilor de război! Scapă, prin braţul Tău cel puternic, pe cei ce pier!

12 A nd return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom The reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

Întoarce vecinilor noştri, de şapte ori în sînul lor, batjocurile, cari Ţi le-au aruncat ei Ţie, Doamne!

13 S o we Your people and the sheep of Your pasture Will give thanks to You forever; To all generations we will tell of Your praise.

Şi noi, poporul Tău, turma păşunii Tale, Te vom lăuda în veci, şi vom vesti din neam în neam laudele tale.
