1 » Tú, hijo de hombre, toma un adobe y ponlo delante de ti, y dibuja en él la ciudad de Jerusalén.

“You also, son of man, take a clay tablet and lay it before you, and portray on it a city, Jerusalem.

2 P onle sitio, levanta contra ella fortificaciones, baluartes y arietes, y rodéala con un ejército.

Lay siege against it, build a siege wall against it, and heap up a mound against it; set camps against it also, and place battering rams against it all around.

3 T oma también una plancha de hierro, y ponla entre la ciudad y tú, a manera de un muro de hierro; la plancha fungirá como cerco. Dirígete luego contra ella, y ponle sitio. Ésta será una señal contra el pueblo de Israel.

Moreover take for yourself an iron plate, and set it as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.

4 » Acuéstate luego sobre tu costado izquierdo, y pon sobre ese costado la maldad del pueblo de Israel. Llevarás sobre ti su maldad el mismo número de días que duermas sobre tu costado.

“Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity.

5 Y los años de su maldad son el mismo número de esos días, es decir, trescientos noventa días. De este modo llevarás sobre ti la maldad del pueblo de Israel.

For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

6 C uando se cumplan estos días, te acostarás de nuevo, pero esta vez sobre tu costado derecho, y durante cuarenta días llevarás sobre ti la maldad del pueblo de Judá. Estoy contando un día por año.

And when you have completed them, lie again on your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days. I have laid on you a day for each year.

7 L uego te dirigirás hacia la Jerusalén sitiada, y con el brazo descubierto profetizarás contra ella.

“Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem; your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it.

8 Y o te sujetaré, de manera que no puedas girar de un lado a otro, hasta que hayas cumplido con los días del sitio contra la ciudad.

And surely I will restrain you so that you cannot turn from one side to another till you have ended the days of your siege.

9 » Pero tú, toma trigo, cebada, habas, lentejas, millo y avena, y ponlos en una vasija, para alimentarte con todo esto el número de días que te acuestes sobre tu costado. Esto es lo que comerás durante trescientos noventa días,

“Also take for yourself wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them into one vessel, and make bread of them for yourself. During the number of days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days, you shall eat it.

10 e n raciones de doscientos gramos al día y a determinadas horas.

And your food which you eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day; from time to time you shall eat it.

11 T ambién beberás el agua en raciones de medio litro por día, a determinadas horas.

You shall also drink water by measure, one-sixth of a hin; from time to time you shall drink.

12 H arás panes de cebada, y los cocerás bajo las cenizas con fuego de excremento humano, y los comerás a la vista de todos.»

And you shall eat it as barley cakes; and bake it using fuel of human waste in their sight.”

13 T ambién dijo el Señor: «Un pan así de inmundo comerán los hijos de Israel, en las naciones por las que voy a arrojarlos.»

Then the Lord said, “So shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, where I will drive them.”

14 E ntonces dije: «¡Ay, Señor y Dios! Yo no soy ningún ser inmundo, ni jamás, desde que era joven y hasta este día, he comido carne de ningún animal muerto o despedazado, ni tampoco me he llevado a la boca carne inmunda.»

So I said, “Ah, Lord God! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my mouth.”

15 E l Señor me respondió: «Mira, voy a permitirte que uses estiércol de bueyes para cocer tu pan, en lugar de excremento humano.»

Then He said to me, “See, I am giving you cow dung instead of human waste, and you shall prepare your bread over it.”

16 Y también me dijo: «Mira, hijo de hombre: Voy a hacer que falte pan en Jerusalén. El pan se comerá por peso y con angustia, y el agua se beberá por medida y con espanto,

Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem; they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread,

17 p ara que, al faltarles el pan y el agua, unos a otros se miren con espanto y se consuman en su maldad.

that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed with one another, and waste away because of their iniquity.
