1 A nd God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

Бог сказал Иакову: – Поднимись в Вефиль, поселись там и построй там жертвенник Богу, Который явился тебе, когда ты бежал от своего брата Исава.

2 T hen Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

Иаков сказал своим домашним и всем, кто был с ним: – Избавьтесь от чужих богов, которые у вас с собой, очиститесь и переоденьтесь.

3 a nd let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

Потом соберитесь в дорогу, и мы отправимся в Вефиль, где я построю жертвенник Богу, Который ответил мне в день бедствия и был со мной, куда бы я ни шел.

4 A nd they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

Они отдали Иакову всех чужих богов, которые у них были, и серьги из ушей, и Иаков закопал их под дубом в Шехеме.

5 A nd they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

Потом они отправились в путь, и ужас Божий объял все города вокруг них, так что никто не преследовал детей Иакова.

6 S o Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him.

Иаков и все, кто был с ним, пришли в Луз (то есть Вефиль) в земле Ханаана.

7 A nd he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

Там он построил жертвенник и назвал то место «Бог Вефиля», потому что там Бог открылся ему, когда он бежал от своего брата.

8 B ut Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.

Девора, кормилица Ревекки, умерла и была похоронена под дубом близ Вефиля. Поэтому он был назван «Дуб Плача».

9 A nd God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.

Когда Иаков вернулся из Паддан-Арама, Бог вновь явился ему и благословил его.

10 A nd God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

Бог сказал ему: – Твое имя Иаков, но отныне ты не будешь называться Иаковом. Имя тебе будет – Израиль ». Так Он назвал его Израилем.

11 A nd God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

Бог сказал ему: – Я – Бог Всемогущий, плодись и умножайся. Народ и множество народов, произойдут от тебя, и цари произойдут от твоих чресел.

12 a nd the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

Землю, которую Я дал Аврааму и Исааку, Я отдаю тебе и отдам ее твоим потомкам.

13 A nd God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

И Бог поднялся от него там, где Он говорил с ним.

14 A nd Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

Иаков поставил каменный столб на том месте, где Бог говорил с ним, и возлил на него вино, как жертву возлияния, и масло.

15 A nd Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.

Иаков назвал место, где Бог говорил с ним, Вефиль. Смерть Рахили и Исаака

16 A nd they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

Они покинули Вефиль и были уже недалеко от Ефрафы, когда Рахиль начала рожать, и роды были очень трудные.

17 A nd it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

Она сильно мучилась при родах, и женщина, принимавшая роды, сказала ей: – Не бойся – у тебя будет еще один сын.

18 A nd it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

Когда Рахиль испускала дух, умирая, она назвала сына Бен-Они, но отец назвал его Вениамин.

19 A nd Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.

Рахиль умерла и была похоронена на пути в Ефрафу (то есть Вифлеем).

20 A nd Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Над ее могилой Иаков поставил памятный камень; это тот камень, что стоит над могилой Рахили до сего дня.

21 A nd Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

Израиль продолжал путь и поставил шатер за Мигдал-Едером.

22 A nd it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

Когда Израиль жил в той земле, Рувим лег с наложницей отца Валлой, и Израиль узнал об этом. Сыновья Иакова (1 Пар. 2: 1-2) У Иакова было двенадцать сыновей:

23 t he sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

От Лии: Рувим, первенец Иакова, Симеон, Левий, Иуда, Иссахар и Завулон.

24 t he sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

От Рахили: Иосиф и Вениамин.

25 A nd the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

От Рахилиной служанки Валлы: Дан и Неффалим.

26 a nd the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.

От Лииной служанки Зелфы: Гад и Асир. Вот сыновья Иакова, рожденные ему в Паддан-Араме. Возвращение Иакова к отцу и смерть Исаака

27 A nd Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

Иаков пришел к своему отцу Исааку в Мамре, что рядом с Кирьят-Арбой (то есть Хевроном), где жили пришельцами Авраам и Исаак.

28 A nd the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

Всего дней жизни Исаака было сто восемьдесят лет;

29 A nd Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

Исаак испустил дух, умер и отошел к своим предкам, старым и насытившимся жизнью. Его сыновья Исав и Иаков похоронили его.
