1 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:

Господь сказал Моисею: – Говори со священниками, сыновьями Аарона, и скажи им: «Пусть священник не оскверняет себя прикосновением к умершему из своего народа,

2 b ut for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

если это не ближайший родственник: мать, отец, сын, дочь, брат

3 a nd for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

или незамужняя сестра, которая зависит от него, потому что у нее нет мужа. Ради них он может оскверниться.

4 B ut he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

Но пусть он не оскверняет себя ради тех, кто породнился с ним через брак.

5 T hey shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

Священникам нельзя брить головы, подстригать края бород или делать на теле порезы.

6 T hey shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

Пусть они будут святы перед своим Богом и не бесчестят Имени своего Бога. Они приносят Господу огненные жертвы, пищу своему Богу, – они должны быть святы.

7 T hey shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

Им нельзя жениться на женщинах, оскверненных развратом, или на разведенных, потому что священники святы перед своим Богом.

8 T hou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the Lord, which sanctify you, am holy.

Уважайте их, как святых, потому что они приносят пищу вашему Богу. Пусть они будут для вас святыми, потому что свят Я, Господь, Который освящает вас.

9 A nd the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

Если дочь священника осквернит себя, став блудницей, она бесчестит отца. Ее нужно сжечь.

10 A nd he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

Первосвященнику, тому среди своих собратьев, на чью голову было возлито масло помазания и кто был освящен, чтобы носить священнические одеяния, нельзя распускать волосы и разрывать на себе одежду.

11 n either shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

Ему нельзя входить туда, где находится мертвое тело. Ему нельзя оскверняться даже ради отца и матери.

12 n either shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.

Ему нельзя оставлять святилище своего Бога, оскверняя его, потому что он освящен маслом помазания своего Бога. Я – Господь.

13 A nd he shall take a wife in her virginity.

Он может жениться только на девственнице.

14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

Он не может жениться ни на вдове, ни на разведенной, ни на женщине, оскверненной блудом. Он может жениться только на девственнице из своего народа,

15 N either shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the Lord do sanctify him.

чтобы не осквернить свое потомство в своем народе. Я – Господь, Который освящает его».

16 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Господь сказал Моисею:

17 S peak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

– Скажи Аарону: «В грядущих поколениях никому из твоих потомков с телесным изъяном нельзя приближаться, чтобы принести пищу своего Бога.

18 F or whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,

Никому с телесным изъяном: ни слепому, ни хромому, ни уродливому, ни калеке нельзя приближаться ко Мне,

19 o r a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,

ни со сломанной ногой, ни со сломанной рукой,

20 o r crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

ни горбатому, ни карлику, ни с глазным изъяном, ни с паршой, ни с коростой, ни с поврежденными яичками.

21 n o man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

Никому из потомков священника Аарона с телесным изъяном нельзя приближаться, чтобы приносить Господу огненные жертвы. У него телесный изъян – ему нельзя приближаться, чтобы принести пищу своего Бога.

22 H e shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

Он может есть пищу своего Бога, самые святые и святые приношения,

23 O nly he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

но из-за изъяна он не должен приближаться к завесе или подходить к жертвеннику, оскверняя Мое святилище. Я – Господь, Который освящает их».

24 A nd Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.

Моисей пересказал это Аарону, его сыновьям и всем израильтянам.
