1 A nd it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

Прошло два года, и фараону приснился сон: он стоял на берегу Нила,

2 A nd, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.

и вот из реки поднялись семь коров – гладких и жирных – и стали пастись в тростниках.

3 A nd, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

Вслед за ними вышли из Нила другие семь коров – безобразных и тощих – и встали рядом с теми на берегу реки.

4 A nd the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

И безобразные, тощие коровы пожрали семь гладких, жирных коров. Тут фараон проснулся.

5 A nd he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

Он заснул вновь, и ему приснился другой сон: семь колосьев – здоровых и полных – росли на одном стебле.

6 A nd, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

Вслед за ними выросли еще семь колосьев – тощих и опаленных восточным ветром.

7 A nd the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

Тощие колосья проглотили семь здоровых, полных колосьев. Тут фараон проснулся: это был сон.

8 A nd it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

Утром его не оставляла тревога. Он созвал всех чародеев и мудрецов Египта и рассказал им свои сны, но никто не смог их истолковать.

9 T hen spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

Тогда главный виночерпий сказал фараону: – Теперь я вспоминаю, что провинился.

10 P haraoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker:

Однажды фараон разгневался на своих слуг и заключил меня и главного пекаря в доме начальника стражи.

11 a nd we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

И мне, и ему в одну и ту же ночь приснился сон, и каждый сон имел свое значение.

12 A nd there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

Там с нами был молодой еврей, слуга начальника стражи. Мы рассказали ему наши сны, и он истолковал их нам; каждому он дал свое толкование.

13 A nd it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

И как он истолковал, так все и вышло: меня возвратили на прежнюю службу, а того посадили на кол.

14 T hen Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

Фараон послал за Иосифом, и его спешно привели из темницы. Он подстригся, сменил одежду и предстал перед фараоном.

15 A nd Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

Фараон сказал Иосифу: – Мне приснился сон, и никто не может его истолковать. Но я слышал о тебе, что ты понимаешь сны и умеешь толковать их.

16 A nd Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

Иосиф ответил: – Не я, но Бог даст фараону ответ во благо.

17 A nd Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

Фараон сказал Иосифу: – Мне снилось, что я стою на берегу Нила,

18 a nd, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:

и вдруг из реки поднялись семь коров, жирных и гладких, и стали пастись в тростниках.

19 a nd, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

Вслед за ними поднялись семь других коров – костлявых, худых и таких безобразных, каких я никогда прежде не видел во всей земле египетской.

20 a nd the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:

Тощие, безобразные коровы пожрали семь жирных коров, которые вышли первыми.

21 a nd when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

Но это не пошло им впрок: они остались такими же безобразными, как и прежде. Тут я проснулся.

22 A nd I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

Потом я видел во сне семь колосьев на одном стебле, полных доброго зерна.

23 a nd, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

Вслед за ними выросли другие семь колосьев – сухие, тощие и опаленные восточным ветром.

24 a nd the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

Тощие колосья проглотили семь полных колосьев. Я рассказал чародеям, но никто не смог дать мне объяснение.

25 A nd Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

Иосиф сказал фараону: – Смысл обоих снов фараона один. Бог открыл фараону, что Он собирается сделать.

26 T he seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

Семь хороших коров – это семь лет, и семь хороших колосьев – это семь лет; смысл тот же.

27 A nd the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

Семь худых, безобразных коров, которые пришли следом – это семь лет, и так же – семь тощих колосьев, опаленных восточным ветром – это семь лет голода.

28 T his is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.

Вот что я имел в виду, когда сказал фараону, что Бог открыл ему Свои замыслы.

29 B ehold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

В земле египетской наступают семь лет великого изобилия,

30 a nd there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

а за ними последуют семь лет голода, когда все изобилие в Египте будет забыто, и голод опустошит землю.

31 a nd the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

Прежнее изобилие забудется в этой земле из-за голода, который последует за ним, потому что голод будет жестокий.

32 A nd for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

А то, что сон повторился фараону дважды, означает, что Бог твердо определил это и вскоре исполнит Свой замысел.

33 N ow therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

Пусть же фараон найдет проницательного и мудрого человека и поставит его над землей Египта.

34 L et Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

Пусть фараон назначит чиновников по всей стране, чтобы они собирали пятую часть урожая в Египте в те семь лет изобилия.

35 A nd let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

Пусть в те добрые годы они собирают все продовольствие, что поступает к ним, и пусть властью фараона запасают зерно и хранят его в городах.

36 A nd that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

Это продовольствие будет для страны про запас, чтобы страна не погибла в те семь лет голода, которые потом будут в Египте. Иосиф назначается главным правителем Египта

37 A nd the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

Фараон и все его приближенные одобрили этот план.

38 A nd Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

Фараон спросил приближенных: – Найдем ли мы еще такого, как этот человек, в котором Дух Бога? »

39 A nd Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

И фараон сказал Иосифу: – Раз Бог открыл тебе все это, значит, нет никого мудрее и проницательнее тебя.

40 t hou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Я ставлю тебя над моим домом, и весь мой народ будет слушаться твоих приказов. Только троном я буду выше тебя.

41 A nd Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

Фараон сказал Иосифу: – Смотри, я ставлю тебя над всей землей Египта.

42 A nd Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

Он снял с пальца свой перстень и надел на палец Иосифу, он одел его в одежды из тонкого полотна и повесил ему на шею золотую цепь.

43 a nd he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Он велел возить его в колеснице как второго после себя и кричать перед ним: «Дорогу!» Так он поставил его над всей землей Египта.

44 A nd Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

Фараон сказал Иосифу: – Я фараон, но без твоего слова никто во всем Египте не посмеет и пальцем шевельнуть.

45 A nd Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

Он дал Иосифу имя Цафнат-Панеах и отдал ему в жены Асенефу, дочь Потифера, жреца города Она. И отправился Иосиф в путь по всей египетской земле.

46 A nd Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

Иосифу было тридцать лет, когда он поступил на службу к фараону, царю Египта. Он вышел от фараона и отправился в путь по всему Египту.

47 A nd in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

Семь лет изобилия земля приносила богатый урожай.

48 A nd he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

Иосиф собирал весь урожай тех семи лет изобилия в Египте и складывал его в городах; в каждом городе он складывал урожай с окрестных полей.

49 A nd Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

Собранного Иосифом зерна было как песка в море, и он перестал вести ему счет, потому что сосчитать его было невозможно.

50 A nd unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.

Прежде чем пришли годы голода, у Иосифа родились два сына от Асенефы, дочери Потифера, жреца города Она.

51 A nd Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.

Иосиф назвал своего первенца Манассия и сказал: «Это потому, что Бог дал мне забыть все мои страдания и дом моего отца».

52 A nd the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

Второго сына он назвал Ефрем, сказав: «Это потому, что Бог сделал меня плодовитым в земле моего страдания».

53 A nd the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

Семь лет изобилия в Египте подошли к концу,

54 A nd the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

и начались семь лет голода, как Иосиф и предсказал. Голод был во всех других землях, только в земле Египта была пища.

55 A nd when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

Когда весь Египет начал голодать, люди взмолились к фараону о пище, и фараон сказал египтянам: – Идите к Иосифу и делайте, как он скажет.

56 A nd the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

Когда голод распространился по всей стране, Иосиф открыл склады и стал продавать зерно египтянам, потому что голод в Египте был жестокий.

57 A nd all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

Из всех стран приходили в Египет, чтобы купить у Иосифа зерна, потому что по всему миру был жестокий голод.
