1 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:

Jehová dijo a Moisés: «Habla a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, y diles que no se contaminen por un muerto en sus pueblos,

2 b ut for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

a no ser por un pariente cercano, por su madre o por su padre, o por su hijo o por su hermano,

3 a nd for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

o por su hermana virgen, a él cercana, la cual no haya tenido marido; por ella puede contaminarse.

4 B ut he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

No se contaminará como cualquier hombre de su pueblo, haciéndose impuro.

5 T hey shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

»No harán tonsura en su cabeza, ni raerán la punta de su barba, ni en su carne harán incisiones.

6 T hey shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

Santos serán para su Dios, y no profanarán el nombre de su Dios, porque ofrecen las ofrendas quemadas para Jehová y el pan de su Dios; por tanto, serán santos.

7 T hey shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

»Con una mujer ramera o infame no se casarán, ni con una mujer repudiada por su marido, porque el sacerdote está consagrado a su Dios.

8 T hou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the Lord, which sanctify you, am holy.

Por tanto, lo santificarás, pues el pan de tu Dios ofrece; santo será para ti, porque santo soy yo, Jehová, el que os santifico.

9 A nd the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

»La hija del sacerdote, si comienza a prostituirse, a su padre deshonra; quemada será al fuego.

10 A nd he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

»El sumo sacerdote entre sus hermanos, sobre cuya cabeza fue derramado el aceite de la unción, y que fue consagrado para llevar las vestiduras, no descubrirá su cabeza ni rasgará sus vestidos

11 n either shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

ni entrará donde haya alguna persona muerta; ni por su padre ni por su madre se contaminará.

12 n either shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.

No saldrá del santuario ni profanará el santuario de su Dios, porque tiene sobre él la consagración del aceite de la unción de su Dios. Yo, Jehová.

13 A nd he shall take a wife in her virginity.

»Tomará por esposa a una mujer virgen.

14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

No tomará viuda, ni repudiada, ni infame ni ramera, sino que tomará de su pueblo una virgen por mujer,

15 N either shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the Lord do sanctify him.

para que no profane su descendencia entre su pueblo, porque yo, Jehová, soy el que los santifico.»

16 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Jehová habló a Moisés y le dijo:

17 S peak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

«Habla a Aarón y dile: Ninguno de tus descendientes que tenga algún defecto se acercará, a lo largo de las generaciones, para ofrecer el pan de su Dios.

18 F or whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,

Ningún hombre en el cual haya defecto se acercará: sea ciego o cojo, mutilado o deforme;

19 o r a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,

que tenga quebradura de pie o rotura de mano,

20 o r crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

que sea jorobado o enano, o tenga una nube en el ojo, o sarna o erupción o testículo magullado.

21 n o man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

Ningún hombre de la descendencia del sacerdote Aarón, en el cual haya defecto, se acercará para ofrecer las ofrendas quemadas para Jehová. Hay defecto en él; no se acercará a ofrecer el pan de su Dios.

22 H e shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

Del pan de su Dios, de lo muy santo y de las cosas santificadas podrá comer.

23 O nly he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

Pero no se acercará tras el velo, ni se acercará al altar, por cuanto hay defecto en él; para que no profane mi santuario, porque yo, Jehová, soy el que los santifico.»

24 A nd Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.

Así habló Moisés a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los hijos de Israel.
