1 T hough I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Si yo hablara lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo amor, vengo a ser como metal que resuena o címbalo que retiñe.

2 A nd though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Y si tuviera profecía, y entendiera todos los misterios y todo conocimiento, y si tuviera toda la fe, de tal manera que trasladara los montes, y no tengo amor, nada soy.

3 A nd though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Y si repartiera todos mis bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregara mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo amor, de nada me sirve.

4 C harity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

El amor es sufrido, es benigno; el amor no tiene envidia; el amor no es jactancioso, no se envanece,

5 d oth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

no hace nada indebido, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no guarda rencor;

6 r ejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

no se goza de la injusticia, sino que se goza de la verdad.

7 b eareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.

8 C harity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

El amor nunca deja de ser; pero las profecías se acabarán, cesarán las lenguas y el conocimiento se acabará.

9 F or we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

En parte conocemos y en parte profetizamos;

10 B ut when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

pero cuando venga lo perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.

11 W hen I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño; pero cuando ya fui hombre, dejé lo que era de niño.

12 F or now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Ahora vemos por espejo, oscuramente; pero entonces veremos cara a cara. Ahora conozco en parte, pero entonces conoceré como fui conocido.

13 A nd now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y el amor, estos tres; pero el mayor de ellos es el amor.
