1 A nd after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.

2 A nd when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

Después de recorrer aquellas regiones, y de exhortarlos con abundancia de palabras, llegó a Grecia.

3 a nd there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

Al cabo de tres meses de estar allí, debido a los planes que los judíos tenían contra él cuando se embarcara para Siria, tomó la decisión de volver por Macedonia.

4 A nd there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

Lo acompañaron hasta Asia, Sópater hijo de Pirro, de Berea; Aristarco y Segundo, de Tesalónica; Gayo, de Derbe, y Timoteo; y de Asia, Tíquico y Trófimo.

5 T hese going before tarried for us at Troas.

Estos, habiéndose adelantado, nos esperaron en Troas.

6 A nd we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

Y nosotros, pasados los días de los Panes sin levadura, zarpamos de Filipos y en cinco días nos reunimos con ellos en Troas, donde nos quedamos siete días. Visita de despedida de Pablo en Troas

7 A nd upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

El primer día de la semana, reunidos los discípulos para partir el pan, Pablo que tenía que salir al día siguiente, les enseñaba, y alargó el discurso hasta la medianoche.

8 A nd there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

Había muchas lámparas en el aposento alto donde se hallaban reunidos.

9 A nd there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

Un joven llamado Eutico estaba sentado en la ventana, y rendido de un sueño profundo por cuanto Pablo disertaba largamente, vencido del sueño cayó del tercer piso abajo, y fue levantado muerto.

10 A nd Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

Entonces descendió Pablo y se echó sobre él, y abrazándolo, dijo: —No os alarméis, pues está vivo.

11 W hen he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

Después de haber subido, partió el pan, lo comió y siguió hablando hasta el alba; y luego se fue.

12 A nd they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

Llevaron vivo al joven, y fueron grandemente consolados. Viaje de Troas a Mileto

13 A nd we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

Nosotros, adelantándonos a embarcarnos, navegamos a Asón para recoger allí a Pablo, ya que así lo había determinado, queriendo él ir por tierra.

14 A nd when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

Cuando se reunió con nosotros en Asón, tomándolo a bordo, vinimos a Mitilene.

15 A nd we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

Navegando de allí, al día siguiente llegamos delante de Quío, y al otro día tocamos puerto en Samos. Hicimos escala en Trogilio, y al día siguiente llegamos a Mileto.

16 F or Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

Pablo se había propuesto pasar de largo a Éfeso, para no detenerse en Asia, pues se apresuraba por estar el día de Pentecostés, si le fuera posible, en Jerusalén. Discurso de despedida de Pablo en Mileto

17 A nd from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

Enviando, pues, desde Mileto a Éfeso, hizo llamar a los ancianos de la iglesia.

18 A nd when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

Cuando vinieron a él, les dijo: —Vosotros sabéis cómo me he comportado entre vosotros todo el tiempo, desde el primer día que llegué a Asia,

19 s erving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

sirviendo al Señor con toda humildad, con muchas lágrimas y pruebas que me han venido por las asechanzas de los judíos;

20 a nd how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

y cómo nada que fuera útil he rehuido de anunciaros y enseñaros, públicamente y por las casas,

21 t estifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

testificando a judíos y a gentiles acerca del arrepentimiento para con Dios y de la fe en nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

22 A nd now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

Ahora, ligado yo en espíritu, voy a Jerusalén sin saber lo que allá me ha de acontecer;

23 s ave that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

salvo que el Espíritu Santo por todas las ciudades me da testimonio de que me esperan prisiones y tribulaciones.

24 B ut none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Pero de ninguna cosa hago caso ni estimo preciosa mi vida para mí mismo, con tal que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar testimonio del evangelio de la gracia de Dios.

25 A nd now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

»Y ahora, yo sé que ninguno de todos vosotros, entre quienes he pasado predicando el reino de Dios, verá más mi rostro.

26 W herefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

Por tanto, yo os declaro en el día de hoy, que estoy limpio de la sangre de todos,

27 F or I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

porque no he rehuido anunciaros todo el consejo de Dios.

28 T ake heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Por tanto, mirad por vosotros y por todo el rebaño en que el Espíritu Santo os ha puesto por obispos para apacentar la iglesia del Señor, la cual él ganó por su propia sangre,

29 F or I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

porque yo sé que después de mi partida entrarán en medio de vosotros lobos rapaces que no perdonarán al rebaño.

30 A lso of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Y de entre vosotros mismos se levantarán hombres que hablarán cosas perversas para arrastrar tras sí discípulos.

31 T herefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Por tanto, velad, acordándoos de que por tres años, de noche y de día, no he cesado de amonestar con lágrimas a cada uno.

32 A nd now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

»Y ahora, hermanos, os encomiendo a Dios y a la palabra de su gracia, que tiene poder para sobreedificaros y daros herencia con todos los santificados.

33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.

Ni plata ni oro ni vestido de nadie he codiciado.

34 Y ea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

Antes bien vosotros sabéis que para lo que me ha sido necesario a mí y a los que están conmigo, estas manos me han servido.

35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

En todo os he enseñado que, trabajando así, se debe ayudar a los necesitados, y recordar las palabras del Señor Jesús, que dijo: “Más bienaventurado es dar que recibir.”»

36 A nd when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

Cuando terminó de decir estas cosas, se puso de rodillas y oró con todos ellos.

37 A nd they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,

Entonces hubo gran llanto de todos, y echándose al cuello de Pablo, lo besaban,

38 s orrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

y se dolían en gran manera por la palabra que dijo de que no verían más su rostro. Y lo acompañaron al barco.
