1 G od, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Dios, habiendo hablado muchas veces y de muchas maneras en otro tiempo a los padres por los profetas,

2 h ath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

en estos últimos días nos ha hablado por el Hijo, a quien constituyó heredero de todo y por quien asimismo hizo el universo.

3 w ho being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Él, que es el resplandor de su gloria, la imagen misma de su sustancia y quien sustenta todas las cosas con la palabra de su poder, habiendo efectuado la purificación de nuestros pecados por medio de sí mismo, se sentó a la diestra de la Majestad en las alturas,

4 b eing made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

hecho tanto superior a los ángeles cuanto que heredó más excelente nombre que ellos. El Hijo, superior a los ángeles

5 F or unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

¿A cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás: «Mi Hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy», ni tampoco: «Yo seré un padre para él, y él será un hijo para mí»?

6 A nd again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Y otra vez, cuando introduce al Primogénito en el mundo, dice: «Adórenlo todos los ángeles de Dios.»

7 A nd of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Y ciertamente, hablando de los ángeles dice: «El que hace a sus ángeles espíritus, y a sus ministros llama de fuego.»

8 B ut unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Pero del Hijo dice: «Tu trono, Dios, por los siglos de los siglos. Cetro de equidad es el cetro de tu Reino.

9 T hou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Has amado la justicia y odiado la maldad, por lo cual te ungió Dios, el Dios tuyo, con óleo de alegría más que a tus compañeros.»

10 A nd, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

También dice: «Tú, Señor, en el principio fundaste la tierra, y los cielos son obra de tus manos.

11 t hey shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

Ellos perecerán, mas tú permaneces. Todos ellos se envejecerán como una vestidura;

12 a nd as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

como un vestido los envolverás, y serán mudados. Pero tú eres el mismo, y tus años no acabarán.»

13 B ut to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

¿A cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás: «Siéntate a mi diestra, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies»?

14 A re they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

¿No son todos espíritus ministradores, enviados para servicio a favor de los que serán herederos de la salvación?
