1 A nd there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

En los montes de Efraín vivía un hombre que se llamaba Micaía,

2 A nd he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my son.

el cual dijo a su madre: —Los mil cien siclos de plata que te robaron, por los cuales maldijiste y de los cuales me hablaste, están en mi poder; yo tomé ese dinero. Entonces la madre dijo: —¡Bendito seas de Jehová, hijo mío!

3 A nd when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

Cuando él devolvió los mil cien siclos de plata a su madre, ésta dijo: —En verdad, por mi hijo he dedicado el dinero a Jehová, para hacer una imagen de talla y una de fundición; pero ahora te lo devuelvo.

4 Y et he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.

Cuando él devolvió el dinero a su madre, ella tomó doscientos siclos de plata y los dio al fundidor, quien hizo con ellos una imagen de talla y una de fundición, la cual fue puesta en la casa de Micaía.

5 A nd the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

Este hombre Micaía tuvo así un lugar donde adorar a sus dioses. Hizo un efod y unos terafines, y consagró a uno de sus hijos para que fuera su sacerdote.

6 I n those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

En aquellos días no había rey en Israel y cada cual hacía lo que bien le parecía.

7 A nd there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.

Había un joven de Belén de Judá, el cual era levita y forastero allí.

8 A nd the man departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.

Este hombre partió de la ciudad de Belén de Judá para ir a vivir donde pudiera encontrar un lugar. En su viaje llegó a los montes de Efraín, a la casa de Micaía.

9 A nd Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

Micaía le preguntó: —¿De dónde vienes? El levita le respondió: —Soy de Belén de Judá y voy a vivir donde pueda encontrar lugar.

10 A nd Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.

Micaía le propuso: —Quédate en mi casa, y para mí serás padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, vestidos y comida. Y el levita se quedó.

11 A nd the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.

Le agradó, pues, al levita quedarse con aquel hombre, y fue para él como uno de sus hijos.

12 A nd Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

Micaía consagró al levita; aquel joven le sirvió de sacerdote y permaneció en casa de Micaía.

13 T hen said Micah, Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.

Entonces Micaía pensó: «Ahora sé que Jehová me prosperará, porque tengo a un levita por sacerdote.»
