1 A nd it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee,

»Sucederá que cuando hayan venido sobre ti todas estas cosas, la bendición y la maldición que he puesto delante de ti, te arrepientas en medio de todas las naciones adonde te haya arrojado Jehová, tu Dios,

2 a nd shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

te conviertas a Jehová, tu Dios, y obedezcas a su voz conforme a todo lo que yo te mando hoy, tú y tus hijos, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,

3 t hat then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.

entonces Jehová hará volver a tus cautivos, tendrá misericordia de ti y volverá a recogerte de entre todos los pueblos adonde te haya esparcido Jehová, tu Dios.

4 I f any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

Aunque tus desterrados estén en las partes más lejanas que hay debajo del cielo, de allí te recogerá Jehová, tu Dios, y de allá te tomará.

5 a nd the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

Jehová, tu Dios, te hará volver a la tierra que heredaron tus padres, y será tuya; te hará bien y te multiplicará más que a tus padres.

6 A nd the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Y circuncidará Jehová, tu Dios, tu corazón, y el corazón de tu descendencia, para que ames a Jehová, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, a fin de que vivas.

7 A nd the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

Pondrá Jehová, tu Dios, todas estas maldiciones sobre tus enemigos y sobre los que te persiguieron con odio.

8 A nd thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

Tú te convertirás, escucharás la voz de Jehová y pondrás por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te ordeno hoy.

9 A nd the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

Entonces Jehová, tu Dios, te hará prosperar en toda la obra de tus manos, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu bestia y en el fruto de tu tierra, para bien; porque Jehová volverá a gozarse sobre ti para bien, de la manera que se gozó sobre tus padres,

10 i f thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

cuando obedezcas a la voz de Jehová, tu Dios, y guardes sus mandamientos y sus estatutos escritos en este libro de la Ley; cuando te conviertas a Jehová, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.

11 F or this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

»Porque este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es demasiado difícil para ti, ni está lejos de ti.

12 I t is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

No está en el cielo, para que digas: “¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo, nos lo traerá y nos lo hará oír para que lo cumplamos?”

13 N either is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

Ni está al otro lado del mar, para que digas: “¿Quién pasará por nosotros el mar, para que nos lo traiga y nos lo haga oír, a fin de que lo cumplamos?”

14 B ut the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Pues muy cerca de ti está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que la cumplas.

15 S ee, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

»Mira, yo he puesto delante de ti hoy la vida y el bien, la muerte y el mal,

16 i n that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

porque yo te mando hoy que ames a Jehová, tu Dios, que andes en sus caminos y guardes sus mandamientos, sus estatutos y sus decretos, para que vivas y seas multiplicado, y Jehová, tu Dios, te bendiga en la tierra a la cual vas a entrar para tomarla en posesión.

17 B ut if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

Pero si tu corazón se aparta y no obedeces, te dejas extraviar, te inclinas a dioses ajenos y los sirves,

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

yo os declaro hoy que de cierto pereceréis; no prolongaréis vuestros días sobre la tierra adonde vais a entrar para tomarla en posesión tras pasar el Jordán.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

A los cielos y a la tierra llamo por testigos hoy contra vosotros, de que os he puesto delante la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición; escoge, pues, la vida, para que vivas tú y tu descendencia,

20 t hat thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

amando a Jehová, tu Dios, atendiendo a su voz y siguiéndolo a él, pues él es tu vida, así como la prolongación de tus días, a fin de que habites sobre la tierra que juró Jehová a tus padres, Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, que les había de dar.»
