1 R ejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Alegraos, justos, en Jehová; en los íntegros es hermosa la alabanza.

2 P raise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

Aclamad a Jehová con arpa; cantadle con salterio y decacordio.

3 S ing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Cantadle cántico nuevo; ¡hacedlo bien, tañendo con júbilo!,

4 F or the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

porque recta es la palabra de Jehová y toda su obra es hecha con fidelidad.

5 H e loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Él ama la justicia y el derecho; de la misericordia de Jehová está llena la tierra.

6 B y the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Por la palabra de Jehová fueron hechos los cielos; y todo el ejército de ellos, por el aliento de su boca.

7 H e gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Él junta como montón las aguas del mar; él pone en depósitos los abismos.

8 L et all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

¡Tema a Jehová toda la tierra! ¡Tiemblen delante de él todos los habitantes del mundo!,

9 F or he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

porque él dijo, y fue hecho; él mandó, y existió.

10 T he Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

Jehová hace nulo el plan de las naciones y frustra las maquinaciones de los pueblos.

11 T he counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

El plan de Jehová permanecerá para siempre; los pensamientos de su corazón, por todas las generaciones.

12 B lessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Bienaventurada la nación cuyo Dios es Jehová, el pueblo que él escogió como heredad para sí.

13 T he Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

Desde los cielos miró Jehová; vio a todos los hijos de los hombres;

14 F rom the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

desde el lugar de su morada miró sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra.

15 H e fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

Él formó el corazón de todos ellos; atento está a todas sus obras.

16 T here is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

El rey no se salva por la multitud del ejército ni escapa el valiente por la mucha fuerza.

17 A n horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

Vano para salvarse es el caballo; la grandeza de su fuerza a nadie podrá librar.

18 B ehold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

El ojo de Jehová está sobre los que lo temen, sobre los que esperan en su misericordia,

19 t o deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

para librar sus almas de la muerte y para darles vida en tiempo de hambre.

20 O ur soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.

Nuestra alma espera a Jehová; nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.

21 F or our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Por tanto, en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, porque en su santo nombre hemos confiado.

22 L et thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

¡Sea tu misericordia, Jehová, sobre nosotros, según esperamos en ti!
