1 T hough I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

¶ Si yo hablara lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo caridad, soy como metal que resuena, o címbalo que retiñe.

2 A nd though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Y si tuviera profecía, y entendiera todos los misterios y toda ciencia; y si tuviera toda la fe, de tal manera que traspasara los montes, y no tengo caridad, nada soy.

3 A nd though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Y si repartiera toda mi hacienda para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregara mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo caridad, de nada me sirve.

4 C harity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

¶ La caridad es sufrida, es benigna; la caridad no tiene envidia, la caridad no hace sin razón, no se envanece;

5 d oth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

no es injuriosa, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa mal;

6 r ejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

no se recrea de la injusticia, mas se recrea de la verdad;

7 b eareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.

8 C harity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

¶ La caridad nunca se pierde; mas las profecías se han de acabar, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia ha de acabar;

9 F or we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;

10 B ut when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

mas cuando venga lo que es perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte será quitado.

11 W hen I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, sabía como niño, mas cuando ya soy hombre hecho, quité lo que era de niño.

12 F or now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Ahora vemos como por espejo, en obscuridad; mas entonces veremos cara a cara; ahora conozco en parte; mas entonces conoceré como soy conocido.

13 A nd now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Mas ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza, y la caridad, estas tres cosas; pero la mayor de ellas es la caridad.
