1 N ow concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

En cuanto a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que estéis en la ignorancia.

2 Y e know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

Sabéis que cuando erais gentiles se os extraviaba llevándoos, como se os llevaba, a los ídolos mudos.

3 W herefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Por tanto, os hago saber que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios dice: Jesús es maldito. Y nadie puede decir: Jesús es el Señor, sino por el Espíritu Santo.

4 N ow there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

Ahora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.

5 A nd there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.

6 A nd there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

Y hay diversidad de actividades, pero Dios, que efectúa todas las cosas en todos, es el mismo.

7 B ut the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Pero a cada uno le es dada la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común.

8 F or to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

Porque a uno es dada por medio del Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;

9 T o another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

a otro, fe, en el mismo Espíritu; y a otro, dones de sanidades, en el mismo Espíritu.

10 T o another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

A otro, el efectuar milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversos géneros de lenguas; y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

11 B ut all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Pero todas estas cosas las efectúa uno y el mismo Espíritu, repartiendo a cada uno en particular según su voluntad.

12 F or as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Porque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así también Cristo.

13 F or by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Porque por un solo Espíritu fuimos todos bautizados para formar un solo cuerpo, sean judíos o griegos, sean esclavos o libres; y a todos se nos dio a beber de un mismo Espíritu.

14 F or the body is not one member, but many.

Porque, además, el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.

15 I f the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

Si dijese el pie: Porque no soy mano, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

16 A nd if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

Y si dijese la oreja: Porque no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

17 I f the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

Si todo el cuerpo fuese ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Si todo fuese oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?

18 B ut now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Pero el hecho es que Dios ha colocado los miembros cada uno de ellos en el cuerpo, como él quiso.

19 A nd if they were all one member, where were the body?

Porque si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?

20 B ut now are they many members, yet but one body.

Ahora bien, los miembros son muchos, pero el cuerpo es uno solo.

21 A nd the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

Ni el ojo puede decir a la mano: No te necesito, ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No tengo necesidad de vosotros.

22 N ay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

Antes bien, los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más débiles, son los más necesarios;

23 A nd those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

y a aquellos del cuerpo que nos parecen menos honrosos, a éstos vestimos con más honra; y los que en nosotros son menos decorosos, se tratan con más decoro.

24 F or our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

Porque los que en nosotros son más decorosos, no tienen necesidad; pero Dios dispuso el cuerpo, dando más abundante honor al que le faltaba,

25 T hat there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

para que no haya desavenencia en el cuerpo, sino que los miembros todos se preocupen los unos por los otros.

26 A nd whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

De manera que si un miembro padece, todos los miembros se duelen con él, y si un miembro recibe honra, todos los miembros se gozan con él.

27 N ow ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Ahora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y miembros cada uno por su parte.

28 A nd God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Y a unos puso Dios en la iglesia, primeramente apóstoles, después profetas, lo tercero maestros, luego poderes milagrosos, después dones de sanidades, ayudas, dotes de gobierno, diversos géneros de lenguas.

29 A re all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

¿Acaso son todos apóstoles?; ¿acaso son todos profetas?; ¿acaso son todos maestros?; ¿acaso hacen todos milagros?;

30 H ave all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

¿acaso tienen todos dones de sanidad?; ¿acaso hablan todos en lenguas?; ¿acaso interpretan todos?

31 B ut covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Desead, pues, celosamente los dones mejores. Y yo os voy a mostrar todavía un camino por excelencia.
