Asimismo derrotó David a Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá, en Hamat, cuando éste iba a asegurar su dominio sobre el río Eufrates.

4 A nd David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.

Y le apresó David mil carros, siete mil de a caballo, y veinte mil hombres de a pie; y desjarretó David los caballos de todos los carros, excepto los de cien carros que dejó.

5 A nd when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

Y viniendo los sirios de Damasco en ayuda de Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá, David hirió de ellos veintidós mil hombres.

Y puso David guarnición en Siria de Damasco, y los sirios fueron sometidos a David, pagándole tributos; porque Jehová daba la victoria a David dondequiera que iba.

7 A nd David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

Tomó también David los escudos de oro que llevaban los siervos de Hadad-ézer, y los trajo a Jerusalén.

8 L ikewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

Asimismo de Tibhat y de Cun, ciudades de Hadad-ézer, tomó David muchísimo bronce, con el que Salomón hizo el estanque de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de bronce.

9 N ow when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;

Y oyendo Tou rey de Hamat que David había deshecho todo el ejército de Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá,

10 H e sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

envió a Adoram su hijo al rey David, para saludarle y felicitarle por haber peleado con Hadad-ézer y haberle vencido; porque Tou tenía guerra contra Hadad-ézer. Le envió también toda clase de utensilios de oro, de plata y de bronce;

11 T hem also king David dedicated unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

los cuales el rey David dedicó a Jehová, con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas las naciones de Edom, de Moab, de los hijos de Amón, de los filisteos y de Amalec.

12 M oreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

Además de esto, Abisay hijo de Sarvia destrozó en el valle de la Sal a dieciocho mil edomitas.

13 A nd he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

Y puso guarnición en Edom, y todos los edomitas fueron sometidos a David; porque Jehová daba el triunfo a David dondequiera que iba. Oficiales de David

Reinó David sobre todo Israel, y juzgaba con justicia a todo su pueblo.

15 A nd Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.

Y Joab hijo de Sarvia era general del ejército, y Josafat hijo de Ahilud, canciller.

16 A nd Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

Sadoc hijo de Ahitub y Abimélec hijo de Abiatar eran sacerdotes, y Savsá, secretario.

17 A nd Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.

Y Benaía hijo de Joyadá estaba sobre los cereteos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los príncipes cerca del rey.
