1 W hat advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

2 M uch every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Mucho, en todas maneras. Primero, ciertamente, que les ha sido confiada la palabra de Dios.

3 F or what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

¿Pues qué? Si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos, ¿acaso su incredulidad habrá hecho nula la fidelidad de Dios?

4 G od forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

¡De ninguna manera! Antes bien, sea hallado Dios veraz, y todo hombre mentiroso; como está escrito: Para que seas justificado en tus palabras, Y venzas cuando seas juzgado.

5 B ut if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

Y si nuestra injusticia hace resaltar la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿Acaso es injusto Dios que da castigo? (Hablo como hombre.)

6 G od forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

¡En ninguna manera! De otro modo, ¿cómo juzgaría Dios al mundo?

7 F or if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

Pero si por mi mentira la verdad de Dios abundó para su gloria, ¿por qué aún soy juzgado como pecador?

8 A nd not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

¿Y por qué no decir (como se nos calumnia, y como algunos, cuya condenación es justa, afirman que nosotros decimos): Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? Todos hemos pecado

9 W hat then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

¿Qué, pues? ¿Somos nosotros mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera; pues ya hemos acusado a judíos y a gentiles, que todos están bajo pecado.

10 A s it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Como está escrito: No hay justo, ni aun uno;

11 T here is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

No hay quien entienda, No hay quien busque a Dios.

12 T hey are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Todos se desviaron, a una se hicieron inútiles; No hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni siquiera uno.

13 T heir throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Sepulcro abierto es su garganta; Con su lengua urdieron engaños. Veneno de áspides hay debajo de sus labios;

14 W hose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Su boca está llena de maldición y de amargura.

15 T heir feet are swift to shed blood:

Sus pies son veloces para derramar sangre;

16 D estruction and misery are in their ways:

Quebranto y desventura hay en sus caminos;

17 A nd the way of peace have they not known:

Y no conocieron camino de paz.

18 T here is no fear of God before their eyes.

No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.

19 N ow we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Pero sabemos que todo lo que la ley dice, lo dice para los que están bajo la ley, para que toda boca se cierre y todo el mundo quede bajo el juicio de Dios;

20 T herefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

ya que por las obras de la ley ningún ser humano será justificado delante de él; porque por medio de la ley es el conocimiento del pecado. La justificación por la fe

21 B ut now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Pero ahora, aparte de la ley, se ha manifestado la justicia de Dios, testificada por la ley y por los profetas;

22 E ven the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

la justicia de Dios por medio de la fe en Jesucristo, para todos los que creen en él. Porque no hay diferencia;

23 F or all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios,

24 B eing justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia, mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús,

25 W hom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

a quien Dios puso como propiciación por medio de la fe en su sangre, para mostrar su justicia, a causa de haber pasado por alto, en su paciencia, los pecados cometidos anteriormente,

26 T o declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

con la mira de mostrar en este tiempo su justicia, a fin de que él sea el justo, y el que justifica al que es de la fe de Jesús.

27 W here is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

¿Dónde, pues, está la jactancia? Queda excluida. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿Por la de las obras? No, sino por la ley de la fe.

28 T herefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Concluimos, pues, que el hombre es justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.

29 I s he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

¿O es Dios solamente Dios de los judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los gentiles? Ciertamente, también de los gentiles.

30 S eeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Porque ciertamente hay un solo Dios, el cual justificará por la fe a los de la circuncisión, y por medio de la fe a los de la incircuncisión.

31 D o we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

¿Luego invalidamos la ley por medio de la fe? ¡En ninguna manera!, sino que afianzamos la ley.
