1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

Habló Jehová a Moisés y a Aarón, diciéndoles:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

Hablad a los hijos de Israel y decidles: Estos son los animales que comeréis de entre todos los animales que hay sobre la tierra.

3 W hatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

De entre los animales, todo el que tiene pezuña hendida y que rumia, éste comeréis.

4 N evertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Pero de los que rumian o que tienen pezuña, no comeréis éstos: el camello, porque rumia pero no tiene pezuña hendida, lo tendréis por inmundo.

5 A nd the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

También el conejo, porque rumia, pero no tiene pezuña, lo tendréis por inmundo.

6 A nd the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Asimismo la liebre, porque rumia, pero no tiene pezuña, la tendréis por inmunda.

7 A nd the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

También el cerdo, que tiene pezuñas hendidas, pero no rumia, lo tendréis por inmundo.

8 O f their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

De la carne de ellos no comeréis, ni tocaréis su cuerpo muerto; los tendréis por inmundos. Animales acuáticos

9 T hese shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

Esto comeréis de todos los animales que viven en las aguas: todos los que tienen aletas y escamas en las aguas del mar, y en los ríos, estos comeréis.

10 A nd all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

Pero todos los que no tienen aletas ni escamas en el mar y en los ríos, así de todo lo que se mueve como de toda cosa viviente que está en las aguas, los tendréis en abominación.

11 T hey shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

Os serán, pues, abominación; de su carne no comeréis, y abominaréis sus cuerpos muertos.

12 W hatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Todo lo que no tiene aletas y escamas en las aguas, lo tendréis en abominación.

13 A nd these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

Y de las aves, éstas tendréis en abominación; no se comerán, serán abominación: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el azor,

14 A nd the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

el gallinazo, el milano según su especie;

15 E very raven after his kind;

todo cuervo según su especie;

16 A nd the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota, el gavilán según su especie;

17 A nd the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

el búho, el somormujo, el ibis,

18 A nd the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

el calamón, el pelícano, el buitre,

19 A nd the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20 A ll fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

Todo volátil que anda sobre cuatro patas, tendréis en abominación.

21 Y et these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

Pero de todo volátil que anda sobre cuatro patas, comeréis los que tengan piernas traseras más largas para saltar sobre la tierra;

22 E ven these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

estos comeréis de ellos: la langosta según su especie, el langostín según su especie, el argol según su especie, y el hagab según su especie.

23 B ut all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

Todo insecto alado que tenga cuatro patas, tendréis en abominación. Contacto de animales impuros

24 A nd for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

Y por estas cosas seréis inmundos; cualquiera que toque sus cuerpos muertos será inmundo hasta la noche,

25 A nd whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

y cualquiera que lleve algo de sus cadáveres lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la noche.

26 T he carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

Todo animal de pezuña, pero que no tiene pezuña hendida, ni rumia, tendréis por inmundo; y cualquiera que los toque será inmundo.

27 A nd whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

Y de todos los animales que andan en cuatro patas, tendréis por inmundo a cualquiera que ande sobre sus garras; y todo el que toque sus cadáveres será inmundo hasta la noche.

28 A nd he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

Y el que lleve sus cadáveres, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la noche; los tendréis por inmundos.

29 T hese also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

Y tendréis por inmundos a estos animales que se mueven sobre la tierra: la comadreja, el ratón, la rana según su especie,

30 A nd the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

el erizo, el cocodrilo, el lagarto, la lagartija y el camaleón.

31 T hese are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

Estos tendréis por inmundos de entre los animales que se mueven, y cualquiera que toque sus cadáveres será inmundo hasta la noche.

32 A nd upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

Y todo aquello sobre lo que caiga algo de ellos después de muertos, será inmundo; sea cosa de madera, vestido, piel, saco, sea cualquier instrumento con que se trabaja, será metido en agua, y quedará inmundo hasta la noche; entonces quedará limpio.

33 A nd every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

Toda vasija de barro dentro de la cual caiga alguno de ellos será inmunda, así como todo lo que esté en ella, y quebraréis la vasija.

34 O f all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

Todo alimento que se come, sobre el cual caiga el agua de tales vasijas, será inmundo; y toda bebida que haya en esas vasijas será inmunda.

35 A nd every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.

Todo aquello sobre lo que caiga algo del cadáver de ellos será inmundo; el horno u hornillos se derribarán; son inmundos, y por inmundos los tendréis.

36 N evertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

Con todo, la pila y la cisterna donde se recogen aguas serán limpias; mas lo que haya tocado en los cadáveres será inmundo.

37 A nd if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

Y si cae algo de los cadáveres sobre alguna semilla que se haya de sembrar, será limpia.

38 B ut if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

Mas si se ha puesto agua en la semilla, y cae algo de los cadáveres sobre ella, la tendréis por inmunda.

39 A nd if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

Y si algún animal que tenéis para comer muere, el que toque su cadáver será inmundo hasta la noche.

40 A nd he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

Y el que coma del cuerpo muerto, lavará sus vestidos y será inmundo hasta la noche; asimismo el que saque el cuerpo muerto, lavará sus vestidos y será inmundo hasta la noche.

41 A nd every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

Y todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra es abominación; no se comerá.

42 W hatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

Todo lo que anda sobre el pecho, y todo lo que anda sobre cuatro o más patas, de todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra, no lo comeréis, porque es abominación.

43 Y e shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

No hagáis abominables vuestras personas con ningún animal que se arrastra, ni os contaminéis con ellos, ni seáis inmundos por ellos.

44 F or I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Porque yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios; vosotros, por tanto, os santificaréis, y seréis santos, porque yo soy santo; así que no contaminéis vuestras personas con ningún animal que se arrastre sobre la tierra.

45 F or I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Porque yo soy Jehová, que os hago subir de la tierra de Egipto para ser vuestro Dios: seréis, pues, santos, porque yo soy santo. Conclusión

46 T his is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

Esta es la ley acerca de las bestias, y las aves, y todo ser viviente que se mueve en las aguas, y todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra,

47 T o make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

para hacer diferencia entre lo inmundo y lo limpio, y entre los animales que se pueden comer y los animales que no se pueden comer.
