1 S et the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

Pon trompeta a tu boca. Como un águila vigila sobre la casa de Jehová, porque quebrantaron mi pacto, y se rebelaron contra mi ley.

2 I srael shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.

Me gritan: Dios mío, los de Israel te hemos conocido.

3 I srael hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Pero Israel desechó el bien; el enemigo lo perseguirá.

4 T hey have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

Ellos establecieron reyes, pero no escogidos por mí; constituyeron príncipes, mas yo no lo supe; de su plata y de su oro hicieron ídolos para sí, para ser ellos mismos destruidos.

5 T hy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

Yo rechazo tu becerro, oh Samaria; se encendió mi enojo contra ellos; ¿hasta cuándo estarán sin purificarse?

6 F or from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

Porque de Israel es también éste, y un artífice lo hizo; no es Dios; por lo que será deshecho en pedazos el becerro de Samaria.

7 F or they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

Porque sembraron viento, y segarán torbellino; no tendrán mies, ni su espiga hará harina; y si la llega a hacer, se la comerán extranjeros.

8 I srael is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

Devorado será Israel; pronto será entre las naciones como vasija de desecho.

9 F or they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

Porque ellos acudieron a Asiria; el asno montés prefiere estar solo; pero Efraín alquiló amantes por salario.

10 Y ea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.

Aunque los alquilen entre las naciones, ahora los juntaré, y serán afligidos un poco de tiempo bajo el peso del rey de los príncipes.

11 B ecause Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

Porque Efraín multiplicó altares para pecar, altares que sólo le han servido para pecar.

12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

Aunque yo haya escrito para él mis leyes a millares, se las tiene como cosa de un extraño.

13 T hey sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the Lord accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

Les gustan los sacrificios, ¡que los ofrezcan!; sacrifican carne, ¡que la coman!; no los acepta Jehová; ahora se acordará de su iniquidad, y castigará su pecado; ellos volverán a Egipto.

14 F or Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Pues Israel olvidó a su Hacedor, y edificó templos; y Judá multiplicó ciudades fortificadas; mas yo prenderé fuego a sus ciudades, el cual consumirá sus palacios.
