1 A t the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

En aquel momento se acercaron los discípulos a Jesús, diciendo: ¿Quién es, entonces, mayor en el reino de los cielos?

2 A nd Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

Y llamando Jesús a un niño, lo puso en medio de ellos,

3 A nd said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

y dijo: De cierto os digo, que si no os volvéis y os hacéis como los niños, de ningún modo entraréis en el reino de los cielos.

4 W hosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Así que, cualquiera que se humille como este niño, ése es el mayor en el reino de los cielos.

5 A nd whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Y cualquiera que reciba en mi nombre a un niño como éste, a mí me recibe. Ocasiones de caer

6 B ut whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Pero al que haga tropezar a alguno de estos pequeños que creen en mí, más le valdría que le colgasen al cuello una piedra de molino de asno, y que le hundieran en el fondo del mar.

7 W oe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

¡Ay del mundo por los tropiezos! Porque es necesario que vengan tropiezos, pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien viene el tropiezo!

8 W herefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Por tanto, si tu mano o tu pie te es ocasión de caer, córtatelo y échalo de ti; mejor te es entrar en la vida cojo o manco, que teniendo dos manos o dos pies ser echado en el fuego eterno.

9 A nd if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Y si tu ojo te es ocasión de caer, arráncatelo y échalo de ti; mejor te es entrar con un solo ojo en la vida, que teniendo dos ojos ser echado en el infierno de fuego. Parábola de la oveja perdida

10 T ake heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Mirad que no menospreciéis a uno de estos pequeños; porque os digo que sus ángeles en los cielos están viendo siempre el rostro de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

11 F or the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Porque el Hijo del Hombre ha venido para salvar lo que se había perdido.

12 H ow think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

¿Qué os parece? Si un hombre tiene cien ovejas, y se descarría una de ellas, ¿no dejará las noventa y nueve y va por los montes a buscar la que se había descarriado?

13 A nd if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Y si acontece que la encuentra, de cierto os digo que se regocija más por aquélla, que por las noventa y nueve que no se habían descarriado.

14 E ven so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Así, no es la voluntad de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos, que se pierda uno de estos pequeños. Cómo se debe perdonar al hermano

15 M oreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Y si tu hermano peca contra ti, ve y repréndele a solas tú con él; si te escucha, has ganado a tu hermano.

16 B ut if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

Pero si no te escucha, toma aún contigo a uno o dos, para que por boca de dos o tres testigos conste toda palabra.

17 A nd if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Si rehúsa escucharles a ellos, dilo a la iglesia; y si también rehúsa escuchar a la iglesia, sea para ti como el gentil y el publicano.

18 V erily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

De cierto os digo que todo lo que atéis en la tierra, estará atado en el cielo; y todo lo que desatéis en la tierra, estará desatado en el cielo.

19 A gain I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Otra vez os digo, que si dos de vosotros se ponen de acuerdo en la tierra acerca de cualquier cosa que pidan, les será hecho por mi Padre que está en los cielos.

20 F or where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Porque donde están dos o tres congregados en mi nombre, allí estoy en medio de ellos. El perdón de las injurias

21 T hen came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

Entonces se le acercó Pedro y le dijo: Señor, ¿cuántas veces perdonaré a mi hermano que peque contra mí? ¿Hasta siete veces?

22 J esus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Jesús le dijo: No te digo hasta siete veces, sino aun hasta setenta veces siete. Parábola de los dos deudores

23 T herefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

Por lo cual el reino de los cielos es semejante a un rey que quiso ajustar cuentas con sus siervos.

24 A nd when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

Y al comenzar a ajustar cuentas, le fue presentado uno que le debía diez mil talentos.

25 B ut forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

No teniendo él con qué pagar, su señor mandó que fuera vendido él, su mujer y sus hijos, y todo lo que tenía, y que se le pagase la deuda.

26 T he servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

Entonces aquel siervo se postró ante él, diciendo: Señor, ten paciencia conmigo, y te lo pagaré todo.

27 T hen the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

El señor de aquel siervo, movido a compasión, le soltó y le perdonó la deuda.

28 B ut the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

Pero aquel siervo, al salir, se encontró con uno de sus consiervos, que le debía cien denarios; y agarrándolo, le ahogaba, diciendo: Págame lo que me debes.

29 A nd his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

Entonces su consiervo, postrándose a sus pies, le rogaba, diciendo: Ten paciencia conmigo, y te lo pagaré todo.

30 A nd he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

Pero él no quiso, sino que fue y le echó en la cárcel, hasta que pagase la deuda.

31 S o when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

Viendo sus consiervos lo ocurrido, se entristecieron sobremanera, y fueron y refirieron a su señor todo lo que había pasado.

32 T hen his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

Entonces, llamándole su señor, le dijo: Siervo malvado, toda aquella deuda te perdoné, porque me lo suplicaste.

33 S houldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

¿No debías tú también haberte compadecido de tu consiervo, como yo tuve compasión de ti?

34 A nd his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

Entonces su señor, enojado, le entregó a los verdugos, hasta que pagase todo lo que le debía.

35 S o likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Así también mi Padre celestial hará con vosotros si no perdonáis de corazón cada uno a su hermano sus ofensas.
