1 T he words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Palabras de Amós, que fue uno de los pastores de Técoa; las visiones que tuvo acerca de Israel en días de Uzías rey de Judá y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

2 A nd he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Dijo: Jehová rugirá desde Sión, y hará oír su voz desde Jerusalén, y los campos de los pastores se enlutarán, y se secará la cumbre del Carmel.

3 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque trillaron a Galaad con trillos de hierro.

4 B ut I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

Prenderé fuego a la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Ben-adad.

5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.

Y quebraré los cerrojos de Damasco, y destruiré a los moradores del valle de Aven, y al que tiene el cetro de Bet-edén; y el pueblo de Siria será transportado a Kir, dice Jehová.

6 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque llevó cautivo a todo un pueblo para entregarlo a Edom.

7 B ut I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

Prenderé fuego a los muros de Gaza, y consumirá sus palacios.

8 A nd I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.

Y destruiré a los moradores de Asdod, y al que tiene el cetro de Ascalón; y volveré mi mano contra Ecrón, y el resto de los filisteos perecerá, dice el Señor Jehová. Tiro y Fenicia

9 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque entregaron a todo un pueblo cautivo a Edom, y no se acordaron del pacto de hermanos.

10 B ut I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

Prenderé fuego a los muros de Tiro, y consumiré sus palacios.

11 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque persiguió a espada a su hermano, y sofocó todo sentimiento de piedad, mantiene siempre su furor, y perpetuamente ha guardado el rencor.

12 B ut I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Prenderé fuego a Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosrá.

13 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Amón, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque para ensanchar sus tierras abrieron en canal a las mujeres de Galaad que estaban encintas.

14 B ut I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

Prenderé fuego a los muros de Rabá, y consumirá sus palacios entre el clamor en el día de la batalla, entre la borrasca en día tempestuoso;

15 A nd their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.

y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y todos sus príncipes, dice Jehová.
