1 A nd Jehovah answered Job and said,

Entonces continuó el Señor y dijo a Job:

2 S hall he that will contend with the Almighty instruct ? he that reproveth +God, let him answer it.

“¿Podrá el que censura discutir con el Todopoderoso (Shaddai) ? El que reprende a Dios, responda a esto.”

3 A nd Job answered Jehovah and said,

Entonces Job respondió al Señor:

4 B ehold, I am nought: what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.

“Yo soy insignificante; ¿qué puedo yo responderte? Mi mano pongo sobre la boca.

5 O nce have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.

Una vez he hablado, y no responderé; Aun dos veces, y no añadiré más.”

6 A nd Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

Entonces el Señor respondió a Job desde la tormenta:

7 G ird up now thy loins like a man: I will demand of thee, and inform thou me.

“Ciñe ahora tus lomos como un hombre; Yo te preguntaré, y tú Me instruirás.

8 W ilt thou also annul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me that thou mayest be righteous?

¿Anularás realmente Mi juicio ? ¿Me condenarás para justificarte tú ?

9 H ast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

¿Acaso tienes tú un brazo como el de Dios, Y truenas con una voz como la suya ?

10 D eck thyself now with glory and excellency, and clothe thyself with majesty and splendour.

Adórnate ahora de majestad y dignidad, Y vístete de gloria y de esplendor.

11 C ast abroad the ragings of thine anger, and look on every one that is proud, and abase him:

Derrama los torrentes de tu ira, Mira a todo soberbio y abátelo,

12 L ook on every one that is proud, bring him low, and tread down the wicked in their place:

Mira a todo soberbio y humíllalo, Y pisotea a los impíos donde están.

13 H ide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.

Escóndelos juntos en el polvo; átalos en el lugar oculto.

14 T hen will I also praise thee, because thy right hand saveth thee.

Entonces Yo también te confesaré Que tu mano derecha te puede salvar.

15 S ee now the behemoth, which I made with thee: he eateth grass as an ox.

Mira a Behemot (al hipopótamo), al cual hice como a ti, Que come hierba como el buey.

16 B ehold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.

Su fuerza está en sus lomos, Y su vigor en los músculos de su vientre.

17 H e bendeth his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are woven together.

Mueve su cola como un cedro; Entretejidos están los tendones de sus muslos.

18 H is bones are tubes of bronze, his members are like bars of iron.

Sus huesos son tubos de bronce; Sus miembros como barras de hierro.

19 H e is the chief of God's ways: he that made him gave him his sword.

Es la primera de las obras de Dios; Que sólo su hacedor le acerque su espada.

20 F or the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

Ciertamente alimento le traen los montes, Y todas las bestias del campo retozan allí.

21 H e lieth under lotus-bushes, in the covert of the reed and fen:

Bajo los lotos se echa, En lo oculto de las cañas y del pantano.

22 L otus-bushes cover him with their shade; the willows of the brook surround him.

Lo cubren los lotos con su sombra; Los sauces del arroyo lo rodean.

23 L o, the river overfloweth—he startleth not: he is confident though a Jordan break forth against his mouth.

Si el río ruge, él no se alarma; Tranquilo está, aunque el Jordán se lance hacia su boca.

24 S hall he be taken in front? will they pierce through nose in the trap?

¿Lo capturará alguien cuando está vigilando ? ¿Perforará alguien su nariz con garfios ?
