1 A nd he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury;

Levantando Jesús la vista, vio a los ricos que echaban sus ofrendas en el arca del tesoro.

2 b ut he saw also a certain poor widow casting therein two mites.

Vio también a una viuda pobre que echaba allí dos pequeñas monedas de cobre;

3 A nd he said, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than all;

y dijo: “En verdad les digo, que esta viuda tan pobre echó más que todos ellos;

4 f or all these out of their abundance have cast into the gifts; but she out of her need has cast in all the living which she had.

porque todos ellos echaron en la ofrenda de lo que les sobra, pero ella, de su pobreza, echó todo lo que tenía para vivir.” Profecía sobre la Destrucción del Templo

5 A nd as some spoke of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated offerings, he said,

Mientras algunos estaban hablando del templo, de cómo estaba adornado con hermosas piedras y ofrendas votivas, Jesús dijo:

6 t hese things which ye are beholding, days are coming in which there shall not be left stone upon stone which shall not be thrown down.

“ En cuanto a estas cosas que ustedes están mirando, vendrán días en que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada.”

7 A nd they asked him saying, Teacher, when then shall these things be; and what the sign when these things are going to take place?

Ellos Le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿cuándo sucederá esto, y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas vayan a suceder?”

8 A nd he said, See that ye be not led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying, I am, and the time is drawn nigh: go ye not after them.

Jesús respondió: “Cuídense de no ser engañados; porque muchos vendrán en Mi nombre, diciendo: ‘Yo soy el Cristo (el Mesías),’ y: ‘El tiempo está cerca.’ No los sigan.

9 A nd when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end is not immediately.

Y cuando oigan de guerras y disturbios, no se aterroricen; porque estas cosas tienen que suceder primero, pero el fin no sucederá inmediatamente.” Señales y Persecuciones

10 T hen he said to them, Nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;

Entonces les dijo: “Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino;

11 t here shall be both great earthquakes in different places, and famines and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

habrá grandes terremotos, y plagas y hambres en diversos lugares; y habrá terrores y grandes señales del cielo.

12 B ut before all these things they shall lay their hands upon you and persecute you, delivering up to synagogues and prisons, bringing before kings and governors on account of my name;

“Pero antes de todas estas cosas, a ustedes les echarán mano, y los perseguirán, entregándolos a las sinagogas y cárceles, llevándolos ante reyes y gobernadores por causa de Mi nombre.

13 b ut it shall turn out to you for a testimony.

Esto les dará oportunidad de testificar.

14 S ettle therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand defence,

Por tanto, propónganse en sus corazones no preparar de antemano su defensa;

15 f or I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your opposers shall not be able to reply to or resist.

porque Yo les daré a ustedes palabras y sabiduría que ninguno de sus adversarios podrá resistir ni contradecir.

16 B ut ye will be delivered up even by parents and brethren and relations and friends, and they shall put to death from among you,

Pero serán entregados aun por padres, hermanos, parientes y amigos; y matarán a algunos de ustedes,

17 a nd ye will be hated of all for my name's sake.

y serán odiados de todos por causa de Mi nombre.

18 A nd a hair of your head shall in no wise perish.

Sin embargo, ni un cabello de su cabeza perecerá.

19 B y your patient endurance gain your souls.

Con su perseverancia ganarán sus almas.

20 B ut when ye see Jerusalem encompassed with armies, then know that its desolation is drawn nigh.

“Pero cuando ustedes vean a Jerusalén rodeada de ejércitos, sepan entonces que su desolación está cerca.

21 T hen let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of it depart out, and those who are in the country not enter into it;

Entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes, y los que estén en medio de la ciudad, aléjense; y los que estén en los campos, no entren en ella.

22 f or these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished.

Porque estos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

23 B ut woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people.

¡Ay de las que estén encinta y de las que estén criando en aquellos días! Porque habrá una gran calamidad sobre la tierra, e ira para este pueblo.

24 A nd they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of nations until times of nations be fulfilled.

Caerán a filo de espada y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones. Jerusalén será pisoteada por los Gentiles, hasta que los tiempos de los Gentiles se cumplan. La Venida del Hijo del Hombre

25 A nd there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity the roar of the sea and rolling waves,

“Habrá señales en el sol, en la luna y en las estrellas, y sobre la tierra, angustia entre las naciones, perplejas a causa del rugido del mar y de las olas,

26 m en ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

desfalleciendo los hombres por el temor y la expectación de las cosas que vendrán sobre el mundo; porque las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas.

27 A nd then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene en una nube con poder y gran gloria.

28 B ut when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh.

Cuando estas cosas empiecen a suceder, levántense y alcen la cabeza, porque se acerca su redención.” Parábola de la Higuera

29 A nd he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig-tree and all the trees;

Jesús les dijo también una parábola: “Miren la higuera y todos los árboles.

30 w hen they already sprout, ye know of your own selves, looking, that already the summer is near.

Cuando ya brotan las hojas, al verlo, ustedes mismos saben que el verano ya está cerca.

31 S o also ye, when ye see these things take place, know that the kingdom of God is near.

Asimismo ustedes, cuando vean que suceden estas cosas, sepan que el reino de Dios está cerca.

32 V erily I say unto you, that this generation shall in no wise pass away until all come to pass.

En verdad les digo que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto suceda.

33 T he heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero Mis palabras no pasarán. Exhortación a Velar

34 B ut take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares;

“Estén alerta, no sea que sus corazones se carguen con disipación, embriaguez y con las preocupaciones de la vida, y aquel día venga súbitamente sobre ustedes como un lazo;

35 f or as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth.

porque vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la superficie de toda la tierra.

36 W atch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Pero velen en todo tiempo, orando para que tengan fuerza para escapar de todas estas cosas que están por suceder, y puedan estar en pie delante del Hijo del Hombre.”

37 A nd by day he was teaching in the temple, and by night, going out, he remained abroad on the mountain called of Olives;

Durante el día Jesús enseñaba en el templo, pero al oscurecer salía y pasaba la noche en el monte llamado de los Olivos.

38 a nd all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.

Y todo el pueblo iba temprano al templo a escuchar a Jesús.
