1 A nd it came to pass, as the crowd pressed on him to hear the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret:

Aconteció que mientras la multitud se agolpaba sobre El para oír la palabra de Dios, estando Jesús junto al lago de Genesaret,

2 a nd he saw two ships standing by the lake, but the fishermen, having come down from them, were washing their nets.

vio dos barcas que estaban a la orilla del lago, pero los pescadores habían bajado de ellas y lavaban las redes.

3 A nd getting into one of the ships, which was Simon's, he asked him to draw out a little from the land; and he sat down and taught the crowds out of the ship.

Subiendo a una de las barcas, que era de Simón, pidió que se separara un poco de tierra; y sentándose, enseñaba a las multitudes desde la barca.

4 B ut when he ceased speaking, he said to Simon, Draw out into the deep and let down your nets for a haul.

Al terminar de hablar, dijo a Simón: “Sal a la parte más profunda y echen sus redes para pescar.”

5 A nd Simon answering said to him, Master, having laboured through the whole night we have taken nothing, but at thy word I will let down the net.

Simón Le contestó: “Maestro, hemos estado trabajando toda la noche y no hemos pescado nada, pero porque Tú lo pides (a Tu palabra), echaré las redes.”

6 A nd having done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes. And their net broke.

Cuando lo hicieron, encerraron una gran cantidad de peces, de modo que sus redes se rompían.

7 A nd they beckoned to their partners who were in the other ship to come and help them, and they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were sinking.

Entonces hicieron señas a sus compañeros que estaban en la otra barca para que vinieran a ayudarlos. Y vinieron y llenaron ambas barcas, de tal manera que se hundían.

8 B ut Simon Peter, seeing it, fell at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.

Al ver esto, Simón Pedro cayó a los pies de Jesús, diciendo: “¡Apártate de mí, Señor, pues soy hombre pecador!”

9 F or astonishment had laid hold on him, and on all those who were with him, at the haul of fishes which they had taken;

Porque el asombro se había apoderado de él y de todos sus compañeros, por la gran pesca que habían hecho;

10 a nd in like manner also on James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; henceforth thou shalt be catching men.

y lo mismo les sucedió también a Jacobo (Santiago) y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran socios de Simón. Y Jesús dijo a Simón: “No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres.”

11 A nd having run the ships on shore, leaving all they followed him.

Y después de traer las barcas a tierra, dejándolo todo, siguieron a Jesús. Curación de un Leproso

12 A nd it came to pass as he was in one of the cities, that behold, there was a man full of leprosy, and seeing Jesus, falling upon his face, he besought him saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.

Estando Jesús en una de las ciudades, había allí un hombre lleno de lepra, y cuando vio a Jesús, cayó sobre su rostro y Le rogó: “Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.”

13 A nd stretching forth his hand he touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed: and immediately the leprosy departed from him.

Extendiendo Jesús la mano, lo tocó, diciendo: “Quiero; sé limpio.” Y al instante la lepra lo dejó.

14 A nd he enjoined him to tell no one; but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses ordained, for a testimony to them.

Y El le mandó que no se lo dijera a nadie. “Pero anda,” le dijo, “muéstrate al sacerdote y da una ofrenda por tu purificación según lo ordenó Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio.”

15 B ut the report concerning him was spread abroad still more, and great crowds came together to hear, and to be healed from their infirmities.

Su fama se difundía cada vez más, y grandes multitudes se congregaban para oír a Jesús y ser sanadas de sus enfermedades.

16 A nd he withdrew himself, and was about in the desert and praying.

Pero con frecuencia El se retiraba a lugares solitarios y oraba. Curación de un Paralítico

17 A nd it came to pass on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem; and Lord's power was to heal them.

Y un día que El estaba enseñando, estaban allí sentados algunos Fariseos y maestros de la ley que habían venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea y Judea, y de Jerusalén; y el poder del Señor estaba con El para sanar.

18 A nd lo, men bringing upon a couch a man who was paralysed; and they sought to bring him in, and put before him.

Y unos hombres trajeron en una camilla a un hombre que estaba paralítico; y trataban de meterlo y ponerlo delante de Jesús.

19 A nd not finding what way to bring him in, on account of the crowd, going up on the housetop they let him down through the tiles, with his little couch, into the midst before Jesus.

No hallando cómo introducirlo debido a la multitud, subieron a la azotea y lo bajaron con la camilla a través del techo, poniéndolo en medio, delante de Jesús.

20 A nd seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

Al ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo: “Hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados.”

21 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins but God alone?

Entonces los escribas y Fariseos comenzaron a razonar, diciendo: “¿Quién es Este que habla blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino sólo Dios ?”

22 B ut Jesus, knowing their reasonings, answering said to them, Why reason ye in your hearts?

Conociendo Jesús sus pensamientos, les respondió: “¿Por qué razonan en sus corazones?

23 w hich is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

¿Qué es más fácil, decir: ‘Tus pecados te son perdonados,’ o decir: ‘Levántate y anda’?

24 B ut that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralysed man, I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy little couch and go to thine house.

Pues para que sepan que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados,” dijo al paralítico: “A ti te digo: levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.”

25 A nd immediately standing up before them, having taken up that whereon he was laid, he departed to his house, glorifying God.

Al instante se levantó delante de ellos, tomó la camilla en que había estado acostado, y se fue a su casa glorificando a Dios.

26 A nd astonishment seized all, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.

El asombro se apoderó de todos y glorificaban a Dios; y se llenaron de temor, diciendo: “Hoy hemos visto cosas extraordinarias.” Llamamiento de Leví y la Cena en su Casa

27 A nd after these things he went forth and saw a tax-gatherer, Levi by name, sitting at the receipt of taxes, and said to him, Follow me.

Después de esto, Jesús salió y se fijó en un recaudador de impuestos llamado Leví (Mateo), sentado en la oficina de los tributos, y le dijo: “Sígueme.”

28 A nd having left all, rising up, he followed him.

Y él, dejándolo todo, se levantó y Lo seguía.

29 A nd Levi made a great entertainment for him in his house, and there was a great crowd of tax-gatherers and others who were at table with them.

Leví Le ofreció un gran banquete en su casa, y había un grupo grande de recaudadores de impuestos y de otros que estaban sentados a la mesa con ellos.

30 A nd their scribes and the Pharisees murmured at his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with tax-gatherers and sinners?

Y los Fariseos y sus escribas se quejaban a los discípulos de Jesús, diciendo: “¿Por qué comen y beben ustedes con los recaudadores de impuestos y con los pecadores?”

31 A nd Jesus answering said to them, They that are in sound health have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.

Jesús les respondió: “Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los que están enfermos.

32 I am not come to call righteous, but sinful to repentance.

No he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento.” Pregunta sobre el Ayuno

33 A nd they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often and make supplications, in like manner those also of the Pharisees, but thine eat and drink?

Ellos dijeron a Jesús: “Los discípulos de Juan ayunan con frecuencia y hacen oraciones; los de los Fariseos también hacen lo mismo, pero los Tuyos comen y beben.”

34 A nd he said to them, Can ye make the sons of the bridechamber fast when the bridegroom is with them?

Entonces Jesús les dijo: “¿Acaso pueden hacer que los acompañantes del novio ayunen mientras el novio está con ellos?

35 B ut days will come when also the bridegroom will have been taken away from them; then shall they fast in those days.

Pero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, entonces ayunarán en aquellos días.”

36 A nd he spoke also a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment upon an old garment, otherwise he will both rend the new, and the piece which is from the new will not suit with the old.

También les dijo una parábola: “Nadie corta un pedazo de un vestido nuevo y lo pone en un vestido viejo; porque entonces romperá el nuevo, y el pedazo del nuevo no armonizará con el viejo.

37 A nd no one puts new wine into old skins, otherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed;

Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque entonces el vino nuevo romperá los odres y se derramará, y los odres se perderán,

38 b ut new wine is to be put into new skins, and both are preserved.

sino que el vino nuevo debe echarse en odres nuevos.

39 A nd no one having drunk old wine wishes for new, for he says, The old is better.

Y nadie, después de beber vino añejo, desea vino nuevo, porque dice: ‘El añejo es mejor.’”
