1 A nd these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 T hen was kindled the anger of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram: against Job was his anger kindled, because he justified himself rather than God;

3 a nd against his three friends was his anger kindled, because they found no answer, and condemned Job.

4 B ut Elihu had waited till Job had finished speaking, because they were older than he.

Eliú había esperado para hablar a Job porque los otros eran de más edad que él.

5 A nd Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men, and his anger was kindled.

Pero cuando vio Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de los tres hombres, se encendió su ira.

6 A nd Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are aged; wherefore I was timid, and feared to shew you what I know.

Y respondió Eliú, hijo de Baraquel el Buzita, y dijo: “Yo soy joven, y ustedes ancianos; Por eso tenía timidez y me atemorizaba declararles lo que pienso.

7 I said, Let days speak, and multitude of years teach wisdom.

Yo pensé que los días hablarían, Y los muchos años enseñarían sabiduría.

8 B ut there is a spirit which is in man; and the breath of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Pero hay un espíritu en el hombre, Y el soplo del Todopoderoso (Shaddai) le da entendimiento.

9 I t is not the great that are wise; neither do the aged understand judgment.

Los de muchos años quizá no sean sabios, Ni los ancianos entiendan justicia.

10 T herefore I say, Hearken to me; I also will shew what I know.

Por eso digo: ‘Escúchenme, También yo declararé lo que pienso.’

11 L o, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasonings, until ye searched out what to say.

Yo esperé sus palabras, Escuché sus argumentos, Mientras buscaban qué decir;

12 Y ea, I gave you mine attention, and behold, there was none of you that confuted Job, that answered his words;

Les presté además mucha atención. Pero no hubo ninguno que pudiera contradecir a Job, Ninguno de ustedes que respondiera a sus palabras.

13 T hat ye may not say, We have found out wisdom; God will make him yield, not man.

No digan: ‘Hemos hallado sabiduría; Dios lo derrotará, no el hombre.’

14 N ow he hath not directed words against me; and I will not answer him with your speeches. …

Pero él no ha dirigido sus palabras contra mí, Ni yo le responderé con los argumentos de ustedes.

15 T hey were amazed, they answered no more; words failed them.

Están desconcertados, ya no responden; Les han faltado las palabras.

16 A nd I waited, for they spoke not, but stood still, and answered no more;—

¿Y he de esperar porque no hablan, Porque se detienen y ya no responden?

17 I will answer, I also in my turn, I also will shew what I know:

Yo también responderé mi parte, Yo también declararé lo que pienso.

18 F or I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

Porque estoy lleno de palabras; Dentro de mí el espíritu me constriñe.

19 B ehold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; like new flasks, it is ready to burst.

Mi vientre es como vino sin respiradero, Está a punto de reventar como odres nuevos.

20 I will speak, that I may find relief; I will open my lips and answer.

Déjenme hablar para que encuentre alivio, Déjenme abrir los labios y responder.

21 L et me not, I pray you, accept any man's person; neither will I give flattery to man.

Que no haga yo acepción de persona, Ni use lisonja con nadie.

22 F or I know not how to flatter; my Maker would soon take me away.
