1 A nd the Pharisees and Sadducees, coming to, asked him, tempting, to shew them a sign out of heaven.

Entonces los Fariseos y los Saduceos se acercaron, y poniendo a prueba a Jesús, Le pidieron que les mostrara una señal (un milagro) del cielo.

2 B ut he answering said to them, When evening is come, ye say, Fine weather, for the sky is red;

Pero El les dijo: “ Al caer la tarde ustedes dicen: ‘ Hará buen tiempo, porque el cielo está rojizo.’

3 a nd in the morning, A storm to-day, for the sky is red lowering; ye know to discern the face of the sky, but ye cannot the signs of the times.

Y por la mañana: ‘Hoy habrá tempestad, porque el cielo está rojizo y amenazador.’ ¿Saben ustedes discernir el aspecto del cielo, pero no pueden discernir las señales de los tiempos ?

4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it save the sign of Jonas. And he left them and went away.

Una generación perversa y adúltera busca una señal (un milagro), y no se le dará señal, sino la señal de Jonás.” Y dejándolos, se fue. La Levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos

5 A nd when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

Los discípulos, al pasar al otro lado, se habían olvidado de tomar panes.

6 A nd Jesus said to them, See and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Entonces Jesús les dijo: “Estén atentos y cuídense de la levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos.”

7 A nd they reasoned among themselves, saying, Because we have taken no bread.

Y ellos discutían entre sí, diciendo: “ Lo dice porque no tomamos panes.”

8 A nd Jesus knowing, said, Why reason ye among yourselves, O ye of little faith, because ye have taken no bread?

Pero Jesús, dándose cuenta, dijo: “Hombres de poca fe, ¿por qué discuten entre ustedes que no tienen pan?

9 D o ye not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many hand-baskets ye took ?

¿Todavía no entienden ni recuerdan los cinco panes para los cinco mil, y cuántas cestas recogieron ?

10 n or the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took ?

¿Ni los siete panes para los cuatro mil, y cuántas canastas recogieron ?

11 H ow do ye not understand that not concerning bread I said to you, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?

¿Cómo es que no entienden que no les hablé de los panes? Pero cuídense de la levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos.”

12 T hen they comprehended that he did not speak of being beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Entonces entendieron que El no les había dicho que se cuidaran de la levadura de los panes, sino de la enseñanza de los Fariseos y Saduceos. La Confesión de Pedro

13 B ut when Jesus was come into the parts of Caesarea-Philippi, he demanded of his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am?

Cuando Jesús llegó a la región de Cesarea de Filipo, preguntó a Sus discípulos: “¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del Hombre ?”

14 A nd they said, Some, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others again, Jeremias or one of the prophets.

Y ellos respondieron: “Unos, Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; pero otros, Jeremías o alguno de los profetas.”

15 H e says to them, But ye, who do ye say that I am?

“Y ustedes, ¿quién dicen que soy Yo?” les preguntó Jesús.

16 A nd Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Simón Pedro respondió: “Tú eres el Cristo (el Mesías), el Hijo del Dios viviente.”

17 A nd Jesus answering said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona, for flesh and blood has not revealed to thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.

Entonces Jesús le dijo: “Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque esto no te lo reveló carne ni sangre, sino Mi Padre que está en los cielos.

18 A nd I also, I say unto thee that thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and hades' gates shall not prevail against it.

Yo también te digo que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta roca edificaré Mi iglesia; y las Puertas del Hades (los poderes de la muerte) no prevalecerán contra ella.

19 A nd I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of the heavens; and whatsoever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be bound in the heavens; and whatsoever thou mayest loose on the earth shall be loosed in the heavens.

Yo te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; y lo que ates en la tierra, será atado en los cielos; y lo que desates en la tierra, será desatado en los cielos.”

20 T hen he enjoined on his disciples that they should say to no man that he was the Christ.

Entonces ordenó a los discípulos que a nadie dijeran que El era el Cristo (el Mesías). Jesús Anuncia Su Muerte y Resurrección

21 F rom that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples that he must go away to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised.

Desde entonces Jesucristo comenzó a declarar a Sus discípulos que debía ir a Jerusalén y sufrir muchas cosas de parte de los ancianos, de los principales sacerdotes y de los escribas, y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercer día.

22 A nd Peter taking him to began to rebuke him, saying, be favourable to thee, Lord; this shall in no wise be unto thee.

Tomando aparte a Jesús, Pedro Lo reprendió: “¡No lo permita Dios, Señor! Eso nunca Te acontecerá.”

23 B ut turning round, he said to Peter, Get away behind me, Satan; thou art an offence to me, for thy mind is not on the things that are of God, but on the things that are of men.

Pero volviéndose El, dijo a Pedro: “¡Quítate de delante de Mí, Satanás! Me eres piedra de tropiezo; porque no estás pensando en las cosas de Dios, sino en las de los hombres.” Condiciones para Seguir a Jesús

24 T hen Jesus said to his disciples, If any one desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Entonces Jesús dijo a Sus discípulos: “Si alguien quiere venir en pos de Mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz y que Me siga.

25 F or whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Porque el que quiera salvar su vida (su alma), la perderá; pero el que pierda su vida (su alma) por causa de Mí, la hallará.

26 F or what does a man profit, if he should gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Pues ¿qué provecho obtendrá un hombre si gana el mundo entero, pero pierde su alma? O ¿qué dará un hombre a cambio de su alma?

27 F or the Son of man is about to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to each according to his doings.

Porque el Hijo del Hombre ha de venir en la gloria de Su Padre con Sus ángeles, y entonces recompensara a cada uno segun su conducta.

28 V erily I say unto you, There are some of those standing here that shall not taste of death at all until they shall have seen the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

“En verdad les digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí que no probarán la muerte hasta que vean al Hijo del Hombre venir en Su reino.”
