1 H ear ye this, house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God of Israel, not in truth, nor in righteousness.

Oigan esto, casa de Jacob, los que llevan el nombre de Israel Y salieron de las entrañas de Judá, Los que juran por el nombre del Señor Y hacen mención del Dios de Israel, Pero no en verdad ni en justicia,

2 F or they are named after the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel: Jehovah of hosts is his name.

Aunque llevan el nombre de la ciudad santa, Y se apoyan en el Dios de Israel, Cuyo nombre es Señor de los ejércitos.

3 I have declared the former things long ago; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I caused them to be heard: I wrought suddenly, and they came to pass.

Las cosas pasadas desde hace tiempo las declaré, De Mi boca salieron y las proclamé. De repente actué y se cumplieron.

4 B ecause I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass,

Por cuanto sé que eres obstinado, Que tu cuello es tendón de hiero Y tu frente de bronce,

5 s o I have long ago declared to thee; before they came to pass I caused thee to hear; lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, or my molten image hath commanded them.

Yo, pues, te las declaré desde hace tiempo. Antes de que sucedieran te las proclamé, No sea que dijeras: ‘Mi ídolo las ha hecho, Y mi imagen tallada o fundida las ha ordenado.’

6 T hou heardest, see all this;—and ye, will not ye declare ? I have caused thee to hear new things from this time, and things hidden, and that thou knewest not:

Lo has oído; míra lo todo. Y ustedes, ¿no lo declararán? Desde este momento te hago oír cosas nuevas Y ocultas que no conocías.

7 t hey are created now, and not long ago; and before this day thou hast not heard them, lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

Ahora han sido creadas, y no hace tiempo, Y antes de hoy no las habías oído, Para que no digas: ‘Yo las conocía.’

8 Y ea, thou heardest not, yea, thou knewest not, yea, from of old thine ear was not opened; for I knew that thou wouldest ever deal treacherously, and thou wast called a transgressor from the womb.

Sí, tú no las oíste, ni nunca las conociste. Ciertamente, no habían sido abiertos de antemano tus oídos, Porque Yo sabía que obrarías con mucha perfidia, Y rebelde te han llamado desde el seno materno.

9 F or my name's sake I will defer mine anger, and my praise will I refrain as to thee, that I cut thee not off.

Por amor a Mi nombre contengo Mi ira, Y para Mi alabanza la reprimo contra ti A fin de no destruirte.

10 B ehold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Pues te he purificado, pero no como a plata; Te he probado en el crisol de la aflicción.

11 F or mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do; for how should be profaned? and I will not give my glory unto another.

Por amor Mío, por amor Mío, lo haré, Porque ¿cómo podría ser profanado Mi nombre ? Mi gloria, pues, no la daré a otro.

12 H earken unto me, Jacob, and Israel, my called. I HE; I, the first, and I, the last.

Oyeme, Jacob, Israel a quien llamé: “Yo soy, Yo soy el primero y también soy el último.

13 Y ea, my hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spread abroad the heavens: I call unto them, they stand up together.

Ciertamente Mi mano fundó la tierra, Y Mi diestra extendió los cielos; Cuando los llamo, comparecen juntos.

14 A ll ye, gather yourselves together, and hear: which among them hath declared these things? He whom Jehovah hath loved shall execute his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm the Chaldeans.

Congréguense, todos ustedes, y escuchen. ¿Quién de entre ellos ha declarado estas cosas ? El Señor lo ama. El ejecutará Su voluntad en Babilonia, Y Su brazo será contra los Caldeos.

15 I , I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and his way shall be prosperous.

Yo, Yo he hablado, en verdad lo he llamado, Lo he traído; y su camino prosperará.

16 C ome near unto me, hear ye this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit.

Acérquense a Mí, escuchen esto: Desde el principio no he hablado en secreto, Desde el momento en que sucedió, allí estaba Yo. Y ahora Me ha enviado el Señor Dios, y Su Espíritu.”

17 T hus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I Jehovah thy God, who teacheth thee for profit, who leadeth thee in the way that thou shouldest go.

Así dice el Señor, tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel: “Yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te enseña para tu beneficio, Que te conduce por el camino en que debes andar.

18 O h that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then would thy peace have been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea;

¡Si tan sólo hubieras atendido a Mis mandamientos! Entonces habría sido tu paz como un río, Y tu justicia como las olas del mar.

19 a nd thy seed would have been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof: their name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

Sería como la arena tu descendencia, Y tus hijos como sus granos. Nunca habría sido cortado ni borrado su nombre de Mi presencia.”

20 G o ye forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing; declare, cause this to be heard, utter it to the end of the earth; say ye, Jehovah hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

Salgan de Babilonia, huyan de los Caldeos; Con voz de júbilo anuncien, proclamen esto, Publíquenlo hasta los confines de la tierra; Digan: “El Señor ha redimido a Su siervo Jacob.”

21 A nd they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; yea, he clave the rock, and the waters gushed out.

No padecieron sed cuando El los condujo por los desiertos. Hizo que brotara agua de la roca para ellos, Partió la peña, y las aguas corrieron.

22 T here is no peace, saith Jehovah, unto the wicked.

“No hay paz para los malvados,” dice el Señor.
