1 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,

El Señor habló de nuevo a Moisés y a Aarón:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the animals which ye shall eat of all the beasts which are on the earth.

“ Digan a los Israelitas: ‘Estos son los animales que pueden comer de entre todos los animales que hay sobre la tierra.

3 W hatever hath cloven hoofs, and feet quite split open, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts—that shall ye eat.

De entre los animales, todo el que tiene pezuña dividida, formando así cascos hendidos, y rumia, éste comerán.

4 O nly these shall ye not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those with cloven hoofs: the camel, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs—it shall be unclean unto you;

Sin embargo, de los que rumian o tienen pezuña dividida, no comerán éstos: el camello, porque aunque rumia no tiene pezuña dividida; será inmundo para ustedes.

5 a nd the rock-badger, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs—it shall be unclean unto you;

El damán, porque aunque rumia, no tiene pezuña dividida; será inmundo para ustedes.

6 a nd the hare, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs—it shall be unclean unto you;

El conejo, porque aunque rumia, no tiene pezuña dividida; será inmundo para ustedes.

7 a nd the swine, for it hath cloven hoofs, and feet quite split open, but it cheweth not the cud—it shall be unclean unto you.

Y el cerdo, porque aunque tiene pezuña dividida, formando así un casco hendido, no rumia; será inmundo para ustedes.

8 O f their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch: they shall be unclean unto you.

No comerán de su carne ni tocarán sus cadáveres; serán inmundos para ustedes.

9 T hese shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatever hath fins and scales in waters, in seas and in rivers, these shall ye eat;

De todos los animales que hay en las aguas, podrán comer éstos: todos los que tienen aletas y escamas, en las aguas, en los mares o en los ríos, podrán comer.

10 b ut all that have not fins and scales in seas and in rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of every living soul which is in the waters—they shall be an abomination unto you.

Pero todos los que no tienen aletas ni escamas en los mares y en los ríos, entre todo lo que se mueve en las aguas y entre todas las criaturas vivientes que están en el agua, serán abominación para ustedes;

11 T hey shall be even an abomination unto you: of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase ye shall have in abomination.

les serán abominación, no comerán de su carne y abominarán sus cadáveres.

12 W hatever in the waters hath no fins and scales, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Todo lo que en las aguas no tenga aletas ni escamas, les será abominación.

13 A nd these shall ye have in abomination of the fowls; they shall not be eaten; an abomination shall they be: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,

Además, éstas abominarán de entre las aves, no se comerán, son abominación: el águila, el buitre y el buitre negro,

14 a nd the falcon, and the kite, after its kind;

el milano y el halcón según su especie;

15 e very raven after its kind;

todo cuervo según su especie;

16 a nd the female ostrich and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, and the hawk, after its kind;

el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota y el gavilán según su especie;

17 a nd the owl, and the gannet, and the ibis,

el búho, el somormujo, el búho real,

18 a nd the swan, and the pelican, and the carrion vulture,

la lechuza blanca, el pelícano, el buitre común,

19 a nd the stork; the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

la cigüeña, la garza según su especie; la abubilla y el murciélago.

20 E very winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four shall be an abomination unto you.

Todo insecto alado que ande sobre cuatro patas les será abominación.

21 Y et these shall ye eat of every winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four: those which have legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth.

Sin embargo, éstos pueden comer de entre todos los insectos alados que andan sobre cuatro patas: los que tienen, además de sus patas, piernas con coyunturas para saltar con ellas sobre la tierra.

22 T hese shall ye eat of them: the arbeh after its kind, and the solam after its kind, and the hargol after its kind, and the hargab after its kind.

De ellos pueden comer éstos: la langosta según sus especies, la langosta destructora según sus especies, el grillo según sus especies y el saltamontes según sus especies.

23 B ut every winged crawling thing that hath four feet shall be an abomination unto you.

Pero todos los demás insectos alados que tengan cuatro patas les serán abominación.

24 A nd by these ye shall make yourselves unclean; whoever toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

Por estos animales, pues, serán inmundos; todo el que toque sus cadáveres quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer,

25 A nd whoever carrieth of their carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even.

y todo el que levante parte de sus cadáveres lavará sus vestidos y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer.

26 E very beast that hath cloven hoofs, but not feet quite split open, nor cheweth the cud, shall be unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

En cuanto a todo animal de pezuña dividida, pero que no forma pezuña hendida, o que no rumian, serán inmundos para ustedes; todo el que los toque quedará inmundo.

27 A nd whatever goeth on its paws, among all manner of beasts that go upon all four, those are unclean unto you: whoever toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

De entre los animales que andan sobre cuatro patas, los que andan sobre sus garras son inmundos para ustedes; todo el que toque sus cadáveres quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer,

28 A nd he that carrieth their carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even: they shall be unclean unto you.

y el que levante sus cadáveres lavará sus ropas y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; les son inmundos.

29 A nd these shall be unclean unto you among the crawling things which crawl on the earth: the mole, and the field-mouse, and the lizard, after its kind;

Entre los animales que se arrastran sobre la tierra, éstos serán inmundos para ustedes: el topo, el ratón y el lagarto según sus especies;

30 a nd the groaning lizard, and the great red lizard, and the climbing lizard, and the chomet, and the chameleon.

el erizo, el cocodrilo, el lagarto, la lagartija de arena y el camaleón.

31 T hese shall be unclean unto you among all that crawl: whoever toucheth them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even.

Estos serán inmundos para ustedes de entre todos los animales que se arrastran; todo el que los toque cuando estén muertos quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer.

32 A nd on whatever any of them when they are dead doth fall, it shall be unclean; all vessels of wood, or garment, or skin, or sack, every vessel wherewith work is done—it shall be put into water, and be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean.

También quedará inmunda cualquier cosa sobre la cual caiga muerto uno de ellos, incluso cualquier artículo de madera, ropa, piel, saco, o cualquier utensilio de trabajo; será puesto en el agua y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; entonces quedará limpio.

33 A nd every earthen vessel into which of them falleth—whatever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

Respecto a cualquier vasija de barro en la cual caiga uno de ellos, lo que está en la vasija quedará inmundo y quebrarán la vasija.

34 A ll food that is eaten on which water hath come shall be unclean; and all drink that is drunk shall be unclean, in every vessel.

Todo alimento que se come, sobre el cual caiga de esta agua, quedará inmundo, y todo líquido que se bebe, que esté en tales vasijas quedará inmundo.

35 A nd everything where upon of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; oven and hearth shall be broken down: they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

Todo aquello sobre lo cual caiga parte de sus cadáveres quedará inmundo; el horno o fogón será derribado; son inmundos y seguirán siendo inmundos para ustedes.

36 N evertheless, a spring or a well, a quantity of water, shall be clean. But he that toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

Sin embargo, una fuente o cisterna donde se recoge agua será limpia, pero lo que toque sus cadáveres quedará inmundo.

37 A nd if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing-seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean;

Y si parte de sus cadáveres cae sobre cualquier semilla que se ha de sembrar, quedará limpia.

38 b ut if water have been put on the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

Pero si se pone agua en la semilla, y una parte de sus cadáveres cae en ella, será inmunda para ustedes.

39 A nd if any beast which is to you for food die, he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

Si muere uno de los animales que ustedes tienen para comer, el que toque su cadáver quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer.

40 A nd he that eateth of its carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even: he also that carrieth its carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even.

Y el que coma parte de su cadáver lavará sus vestidos y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; y el que levante el cadáver lavará sus vestidos y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer.

41 A nd every crawling thing which crawleth on the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

Todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra es abominable; no se comerá.

42 W hatever goeth on the belly, and whatever goeth on all four, and all that have a great many feet, of every manner of crawling thing which crawleth on the earth—these ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

Todo lo que anda sobre su vientre, todo lo que camina sobre cuatro patas, todo lo que tiene muchos pies, con respecto a todo lo que se arrastra sobre la tierra, no los comerán porque es abominación.

43 Y e shall not make yourselves abominable through any crawling thing which crawleth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

No se hagan abominables por causa de ningún animal que se arrastra; y no se contaminen con ellos para que ustedes no sean inmundos.

44 F or I am Jehovah your God; and ye shall hallow yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean through any manner of crawling thing which creepeth on the earth.

Porque Yo soy el Señor su Dios. Por tanto, conságrense y sean santos, porque Yo soy santo. No se contaminen, pues, con ningún animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra.

45 F or I am Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Porque Yo soy el Señor, que los he hecho subir de la tierra de Egipto para ser su Dios; serán, pues, santos porque Yo soy santo.’”

46 T his is the law of cattle, and of fowl, and of every living soul that moveth in the waters, and of every soul that crawleth on the earth;

Esta es la ley acerca de los animales, de las aves, de todo ser viviente que se mueve en las aguas y de todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra,

47 t o make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that is to be eaten and the beast that is not to be eaten.

para hacer distinción entre lo inmundo y lo limpio, entre el animal que se puede comer y el animal que no se puede comer.
