1 ( По слав. 17.) За първия певец. Псалом на Господния слуга Давид, който е говорил на Господа думите на тази песен в деня, когато Господ го избавил от ръката на всичките му неприятели и от ръката на Саул. И каза: Обичам Те, Господи, сила моя.

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

2 Г оспод е скала моя, крепост моя и избавител мой, Бог мой, канара моя, на Когото се надявам, щит мой, рогът на избавлението ми и високата ми кула.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 Щ е призова Господа, Който е достохвален; така ще бъда избавен от неприятелите си.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 В ръзките на смъртта ме обкръжиха; порои от беззаконие ме уплашиха.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 В ръзките на преизподнята ме обвиха; примките на смъртта ме стигнаха.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 В утеснението си призовах Господа и към Бога мой извиках. От храма Си Той чу гласа ми и викът ми пред Него стигна до ушите Му.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 Т огава се поклати и потресе земята; основите на планините се разлюляха и се поклатиха, защото Той се разгневи.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 Д им се издигаше от ноздрите Му и огън от устата Му поглъщаше; въглени се разпалиха от Него.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 Т ой сведе небесата и слезе; и мрак беше под краката Му.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 В ъзседна херувим и летя; летя на ветрени криле.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 П оложи за Свое скривалище тъмнината, за покров около Си - тъмните води, гъстите въздушни облаци.

He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 О т святкането пред Него преминаха през облаците Му град и огнени въглени.

At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 И гръмна Господ от небето, Всевишният даде гласа Си, град и огнени въглени.

The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 И прати стрелите Си и ги разпръсна. Да! Светкавици в изобилие - и ги смути.

Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Т огава се разкриха коритата на водите, откриха се основите на вселената от Твоето изобличение, Господи, от духането на дъха на ноздрите Ти.

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 П ра̀ти от височината, взе ме, извлече ме от големи води.

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 И збави ме от силния ми неприятел, от онези, които ме мразеха; защото бяха по-силни от мене.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

18 С тигнаха ме в деня на бедствието ми; но Господ ми стана опора.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

19 И ме изведе на широко, избави ме, защото имаше благоволение към мене.

He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

20 В ъздаде ми Господ според правдата ми; според чистотата на ръцете ми ме възнагради,

The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

21 з ащото съм опазил пътищата Господни и не съм се отклонил от Бога мой в нечестие.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

22 З ащото всичките Му закони са били пред мен и от наредбите Му не съм се отдалечил.

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

23 Н епорочен бях пред Него и се опазих от беззаконието си.

I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

24 З атова Господ ми въздаде според правдата ми, според чистотата на ръцете ми пред очите Му.

Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

25 К ъм милостивия, Господи, милостив ще се явиш, към непорочния непорочен ще се явиш.

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

26 К ъм чистия чист ще се явиш и към развратния противен ще се явиш.

with the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

27 З ащото оскърбен народ Ти ще спасиш; а очи горделиви ще смириш.

For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28 З ащото Ти ще запалиш светилото ми; Господ, Бог мой, ще озари тъмнината ми.

For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

29 З ащото чрез Тебе разбивам дружина; чрез Бога мой прескачам стена.

For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

30 К олкото до Бога, Неговият път е съвършен; словото на Господа е опитано; Той е щит на всички, които уповават на Него.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

31 З ащото кой е Бог освен Господ? И кой е канара освен нашият Бог?

For who is God save the Lord ? or who is a rock save our God?

32 Б ог, Който ме препасва със сила и прави съвършен пътя ми,

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 Т ой прави краката ми като краката на елените и ме поставя на високите ми места.

He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 У чи ръцете ми да воюват, така че мишците ми опъват меден лък.

He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35 Т и си ми дал и щит на избавлението Си; Твоята десница ме е поддържала и Твоята благост ме е направила велик.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

36 Т и си разширил стъпките ми под мен; и краката ми не се подхлъзнаха.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

37 Г оних неприятелите си и ги стигнах, и не се върнах, докато не ги довърших.

I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

38 С трих ги и не можаха да се повдигнат; паднаха под краката ми.

I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

39 З ащото си ме препасал със сила за бой; повалил си под мене въставащите против мене.

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

40 С торил си да обърнат гръб към мене неприятелите ми, за да изтребя онези, които ме мразят.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

41 И звикаха, но нямаше избавител; към Господа викаха, но не ги послуша.

They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

42 Т огава ги стрих като прах пред вятъра; изхвърлих ги като кал на пътя.

Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

43 Т и си ме избавил и от съпротивленията на народа; поставил си ме глава на народите; народ, който не познавах, слугува на мене;

Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

44 щ ом чуха за мене, те ме послушаха; даже чужденците се преструваха, че ми се покоряват.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

45 Ч ужденците отслабнаха и разтреперани излязоха от яките си скривалища.

The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

46 Ж ив е Господ и благословена да бъде Канарата ми, и да се възвиси Бог на избавлението ми,

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 Б ог, Който въздава мъст за мен и покорява под мене племена,

It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

48 К ойто ме избавя от неприятелите ми. Да! Ти ме възвисяваш над въставащите против мен, избавяш ме от насилника.

He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

49 З атова ще Те хваля, Господи, между народите и на името Ти ще пея.

Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

50 Т и си, Който даваш велико избавление на царя Си и показваш милосърдие към помазаника Си, към Давид и към потомството му до века.

Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
