1 А Духът изрично казва, че във времена, които идат, някои ще отстъпят от вярата и ще слушат измамни духове и бесовски учения

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 ч рез лицемерието на човеци, които лъжат, чиято съвест е прегоряла,

speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 к оито забраняват жененето и повеляват въздържане от ястия, които Бог създаде, за да се употребяват с благодарение от онези, които вярват и разбират истината.

forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 З ащото всяко нещо, създадено от Бога, е добро и нищо не е за отхвърляне, ако се приема с благодарение,

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 п онеже се освещава чрез Божието слово и молитва. Добрият служител на Исус Христос

for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

6 В това, като съветваш братята, ще бъдеш добър служител на Исус Христос, хранен с думите на вярата и доброто учение, което си следвал досега.

If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

7 А отхвърляй скверните и бабешките басни и обучавай себе си в благочестие.

But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8 З ащото телесното обучение е за малко полезно; а благочестието е за всичко полезно, понеже има в себе си обещанието и за сегашния, и за бъдещия живот.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 Т ова слово е вярно и заслужава приемане;

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

10 п онеже затова се трудим и се подвизаваме, защото се надяваме на живия Бог, Който е Спасител на всички човеци, а най-вече на вярващите.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

11 Т ова заръчвай и учи.

These things command and teach.

12 Н икой да не презира твоята младост; но бъди на вярващите пример в слово, в поведение, в любов, във вяра, в чистота.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Д окато дойда, внимавай в прочитането, в увещаването и в поучаването.

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 Н е пренебрегвай дарбата, която имаш, която ти се даде съгласно с пророчеството чрез ръкополагането от презвитерите.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 В ърху това размишлявай, на това се предавай, за да стане явен на всички твоят напредък.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Б ъди внимателен към себе си и в поучението си, постоянствай в това; защото като правиш това, ще спасиш и себе си, и слушателите си.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
