1 Е то думите, които Моисей говорѝ на целия Израел отвъд Йордан, в пустинята, на полето срещу Суф, между Фаран, Тофол, Лаван, Асирот и Дизаав.

These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

2 ( Има единадесет дни разстояние от Хорив през пътя на поляната Сиир до Кадис-варни.)

( There are eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea.)

3 В четиридесетата година, в единадесетия месец, на първия ден от месеца, Моисей каза на израелтяните това, което Господ му заповяда за тях,

And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;

4 с лед като беше поразил аморейския цар Сион, който живееше в Есевон, и васанския цар Ог, който живееше в Астарот, в Едраи.

after he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:

5 О твъд Йордан в Моавската земя Моисей започна да изяснява този закон:

on this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

6 Г оспод, нашият Бог, ни говорѝ на Хорив: Достатъчно време бяхте на тази планина.

The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:

7 О бърнете се, тръгнете по пътя си и идете към планинските страни на аморейците и към всичките им съседни места в Араба, в планините по западните склонове и в Негев, и към крайбрежието в земята на ханаанците, и към Ливан, чак до голямата река, реката Ефрат.

turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

8 Е то, Аз ви давам тази земя; влезте и завладейте земята, за която Господ се е клел на бащите ви, на Авраам, Исаак и Яков, че ще я даде на тях и на потомството им след тях.

Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

9 В онова време ви говорих: Аз сам не мога да ви нося.

And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

10 Г оспод, вашият Бог, ви е умножил; и, ето, днес по численост вие сте като звездите на небето.

the Lord your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

11 ( Господ, Бог на бащите ви, да ви умножи хиляда пъти повече, отколкото сте сега, и да ви благослови, според както ви е обещал!)

(The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)

12 К ак ще мога аз сам да нося тази тежест - вас и товара от вас и вашите препирни?

How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?

13 И зберете измежду племената си мъже мъдри, разумни и изпитани; и аз ще ги поставя началници над вас.

 Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

14 И вие ми отговорихте: Това, което каза ти, е добре да го направим.

And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good for us to do.

15 И така, взех началниците на племената ви, мъдри и изпитани мъже, и ги поставих началници над вас, хилядници, стотници, петдесетници, десетници и надзиратели на племената ви.

So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

16 В онова време заръчах на съдиите ви: Изслушвайте съдебните дела на братята си и съдете справедливо между човека и брат му и чужденеца, който е при него.

And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

17 В съда да не правите разлика между лицата; да изслушвате малкия, както големия; да не се боите от човешко лице, защото съдът е Божий. И всяко дело, което е много трудно за вас, отнасяйте до мен и аз ще го изслушвам.

Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

18 И в онова време ви заповядах всичко, което трябваше да вършите.

And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.

19 К ато отпътувахме от Хорив, преминахме цялата онази голяма и страшна пустиня, която видяхте, и се отправихме към планинските страни на аморейците, според както Господ, нашият Бог, ни заповяда, и дойдохме до Кадис-варни.

And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.

20 Т огава ви казах: Дойдохте до планинските страни на аморейците, които ни дава Господ, нашият Бог.

And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the Lord our God doth give unto us.

21 Е то, Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава тази земя: върви напред, завладей я, както ти е говорил Господ, Бог на бащите ти; не бой се и да не те е страх.

Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.

22 Т огава вие всички дойдохте при мен и казахте: Да изпратим мъже пред нас, за да съгледат за нас земята и да ни донесат известие по кой път да отидем в нея и в кои градове да идем.

And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.

23 Т ова ми се видя добре; затова избрах от вас дванадесет мъже, по един мъж от всяко племе.

And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

24 И те, като тръгнаха, се изкачиха в планинската страна и като стигнаха до долината Есхол, я съгледаха.

and they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.

25 Т е събраха от плодовете на земята и ни донесоха; донесоха ни известие, като казаха: Земята, която Господ, нашият Бог, ни дава, е добра.

And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the Lord our God doth give us.

26 Н о вие отказахте да вървите напред, а се възпротивихте на повелението на Господа, вашия Бог.

Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God:

27 Р оптахте в шатрите си и казахте: Понеже ни мразеше Господ, затова ни изведе от Египетската земя, за да ни предаде в ръцете на аморейците и да ни изтреби.

and ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the Lord hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

28 К ъде да вървим напред? Нашите братя ни обезсърчиха, понеже казаха: Хората са по-големи и по-високи от нас; градовете са големи и укрепени до небето; още видяхме там и енакимите.

Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.

29 Н о аз ви казах: Не се ужасявайте и не се бойте от тях.

Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.

30 Г оспод, вашият Бог, Който върви пред вас, Той ще се бие за вас, също както направи за вас пред очите ви в Египет

The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

31 и в пустинята, където ти видя как Господ, твоят Бог, те е носил, както човек носи сина си, през целия път, по който ходихте, докато стигнахте на това място.

and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

32 В ъпреки това вие не повярвахте на Господа, вашия Бог,

Yet in this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God,

33 К ойто вървеше пред вас по пътя, за да ви търси място къде да разполагате стан - нощем с огън, за да ви показва пътя, по който трябваше да вървите, а денем с облак.

who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

34 А Господ чу гласа на думите ви и като се разгневи, се закле:

And the Lord heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

35 Н ито един от хората на това зло поколение няма да види добрата земя, за която се клех, че ще я дам на бащите ви,

Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

36 о свен Халев, Ефониевия син; той ще я види и на него и на потомците му ще дам земята, на която стъпи, защото напълно последва Господа.

save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the Lord.

37 И на мене се разгневи Господ, заради вас, като каза: И ти няма да влезеш там;

Also the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.

38 И сус, Навиновият син, който ти служи, той ще влезе там. Насърчи го, защото той ще даде земята за наследство на Израел.

But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

39 П ри това невръстните ви, за които казахте, че ще бъдат пленявани, и децата ви, които днес не познават още добро или зло, те ще влязат там и на тях ще дам земята, и те ще я владеят.

Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

40 В ие се върнете и идете в пустинята по пътя за Червеното море.

But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

41 Т огава ми отговорихте: Съгрешихме против Господа; ние ще вървим напред и ще воюваме, както ни заповяда Господ, нашият Бог. И препасахте бойните си оръжия, и се надпреварвахте да се изкачвате по планинската страна.

Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the Lord, we will go up and fight, according to all that the Lord our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.

42 А Господ ми каза: Кажи им: Не се изкачвайте, за да воювате, защото Аз не съм сред вас, за да не бъдете поразени от неприятелите си.

And the Lord said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

43 Т ака ви говорих; но вие не послушахте, а престъпихте Божията заповед и надменно се изкачихте на планинската страна.

So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the Lord, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

44 Т огава аморейците, които живееха на онази планина, излязоха срещу вас, гониха ви, както правят пчелите, и ви поразиха в Сиир и до Орма.

And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.

45 И като се върнахте, плакахте пред Господа; но Господ не послуша гласа ви, нито ви даде ухо.

And ye returned and wept before the Lord; but the Lord would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.

46 Т ака стояхте в Кадис дълго време, според времето, което прекарахте там.

So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.
