1 К огато Господ, твоят Бог, погуби народите, чиято земя Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава, и ти ги наследиш и се заселиш в градовете им и в къщите им,

When the Lord thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

2 т огава да отделиш три града в земята, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава да притежаваш.

thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

3 Д а си приготвиш пътя за тях и да разделиш на три части цялата страна, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава за наследство, за да прибягва там всеки убиец.

Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

4 И ето правилото за убиеца, който може да побегне там и да остане жив: онзи, който без намерение удари ближния си, когото преди това не е мразел -

And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;

5 к акто, когато някой отива с другаря си в гората, за да сече дърва, и ръката му, като удари със секирата, за да отсече дървото, желязото изскочи от дръжката и улучи другаря му и онзи умре - такъв нека бяга в един от тези градове и ще остане жив;

as when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

6 д а не би отмъстителят за кръвта с кипнало от гняв сърце да погне убиеца, да го застигне (ако пътят е дълъг) и да го убие, без той да е заслужил смърт, понеже не го е мразил от преди това.

lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

7 З атова аз ти заповядвам: Отдели си три града

Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

8 ( а когато Господ, твоят Бог, разшири пределите ти, както се е клел на бащите ти, и ти даде цялата земя, която обеща да даде на бащите ти,

And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

9 а ко пазиш и изпълняваш всички тези заповеди, които днес ти заповядвам, да обичаш Господа, твоя Бог, и да ходиш всякога в Неговите пътища, тогава към тези три града да прибавиш още три),

if thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

10 з а да не се пролее невинна кръв в земята, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава за наследство, и да не си виновен за кръв.

that innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

11 Н о ако човек мрази ближния си и го причака, и като го нападне, удари го и онзи умре, и той побегне в един от тези градове,

But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:

12 т огава старейшините на града му да пратят и да го вземат оттам, и да го предадат в ръката на отмъстителя за кръвта, за да умре.

then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

13 О кото ти да не го пожали, а да прекратиш в Израел проливането на невинна кръв, за да ти бъде добре.

Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

14 Д а не преместваш междите на ближния си, които дедите ти са поставили в наследството, което ще наследиш в земята, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава, за да я притежаваш.

Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

15 С амо един свидетел да не застава против някого за каквото и да е беззаконие или за каквото и да е престъпление, което би извършил; а чрез думите на двама свидетели или чрез думите на трима свидетели да се установява всяко дело.

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

16 А ко се повдигне неправеден свидетел против някого, за да свидетелства против него за беззаконие,

If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

17 т огава и двамата, между които е спорът, да застанат пред Господа, пред свещениците и съдиите, които съдят в онова време;

then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

18 и съдиите да разследват подробно; ако свидетелят е лъжлив и свидетелства лъжливо против брат си,

and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

19 т огава да го накажете с това, което е намислил да направи на брат си; така да отмахваш злото отсред себе си.

then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

20 З ащото другите, като чуят, ще се уплашат и няма да вършат занапред такова зло сред тебе.

And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

21 Н е се смилявай над него; живот ще се даде за живот, око за око, зъб за зъб, ръка за ръка, крак за крак.

And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
